Hope everyone enjoyed the snow day as much as our family and friends have today. The boat and truck are covered in snow wishing for warmer weather.

Had a great day on the water with my dad. We ran out with a gorgeous sunrise and the ride home was beautiful too. We fished for under 5 hours and caught 24 Kings, 2 False Albacore and a couple of Amber Jacks. Lost a few fish to sharks too. Our fall fishing has been hot.

US Open KMT is in the books. I had the pleasure of running a 38 Freeman this weekend with a great group of guys (Jim, Eric, John, Ron and my dad Rod). We worked for over a week catching bait, prefishing, and networking. We caught a good fish prefishing and decided we would start our tournament off Topsail but to our demise the NE wind had the fish shutdown and we made a big move to fish off of Lockwood in the afternoon on the first day. Unfortunately we had only 1 king strike the first day. Day 2 we went back south and kept moving til we found some good bait balls and fish off of Shallotte. We ended up catching 5 fish on Saturday with our biggest being 26.95 lbs (on a double header too). It was a fun time but as we all know, king mackerel tournament fishing can be a humbling experience and make you start second guessing yourself. I'm just happy we stuck with it and grinded through it.

Had a great group on the boat today. Here are just a few of the Cudas and AJs we caught on our 5 hour live bait trip. Finished off the day with a 4 lb Spanish Mackerel too.

These poor endangered ARS kept biting our hooks this past weekend. Hopefully this Friday will be nice enough for us to get out and actually be able to keep a few.

Somedays you just gotta take Family Time. We are enjoying our day together. Got to catch some Spanish Mackerel real quick, then saw the Dolphins playing, and finished our day on Masonboro Island playing in the sand and floating in the water.

Had a great trip today. Got to hand feed our AJs this morning with fresh caught menhaden. Then went on the troll and picked up 7 kings and a nice Spanish plus a few throwbacks to end the day bottom fishing catching morre AJs, some endangered Red Snapper, sea bass, grunts, pinkies, and a throwback grouper. All in all they had fun and worn out arms.

Always a great day with the Wilmington Men's Club on board Family Ties Charters. We had a great catch today with bonus friend, mister spiny lobster. Caught a bunch of throw back gag grouper and American red snapper. We had a limit of grunts and red porgies then we threw in a few Sea Bass, Rock Hind grouper, sand perch, an Amberjack and a nice #20 king mackerel. It was a fun filled day.
