The Cary Visitor Center

The Cary Visitor Center The Douglas Realty Group generously has donated its street facing space in its historic office in downtown Cary to serve as the Cary Visitor Center.

For visitors and residents alike, stop by to grab a map, get the low-down on Cary both past and present, check out the Cary history wall, and (eventually) pick up some cool Cary swag. It is privately run through a collaboration between The City Doctor Productions, dedicated to bringing Cary history to life, The Douglas Realty Group, and trained Cary-based volunteers.

I've been keeping this under wraps for a while, but I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be keynoting the 2025 North Carolina Main Street Center's Annual Conference! The North Carolina Main Street Conference is the best-attended Main Street event in the country. Plus the theme couldn’t be a more perfect fit, and getting to serve my beloved home state makes it all the more special.

As part of the keynote, I will share the innnovative local history work we've been doing in Cary over the last few years and its important connection to resident attachment and local economic development. I'm so grateful it is being sought as a model for other places across North Carolina.
