Hiked Panthertown Valley: PTV Trail and Mac’s Gap Loop. 5.8 miles 892 elevation gain. We went clockwise and hit Schoolhouse Falls first then Tranquility Point. It’s a tough uphill out when your legs are already tired but worth it. Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron in bloom. Trailhead is 3 min drive from the house.

Gorges State Park is a 30 minute drive from the house. It has hiking trails and bike and bridle trails. Our favorite hiking trail is https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/north-carolina/rainbow-falls-and-turtleback-falls-trail to Rainbow Falls. It's a 2 mile in and 2 mile out trail along the Horsepasture River. The visitor center is even beautiful and rangers are very helpful!!
