It’s a fun day here at RawHyde today… The first major fire of the year is 3 miles away with 40 mile an hour winds pushing towards us… So I’m putting in fire lines!

Here at RawHyde, we can teach you the skills to ride off-road. But, there is something else to consider. Riding a big bike like BMW GS, KTM or Ducati MultiStrada requires both strength and endurance 💪🏽

Most people have no idea just how physical it is to ride a big motorcycle off the pavement.

Enduro riding (as ADV riding is often lumped in with) is the most active form of recreational motorcycling because as the rider you constantly need to "influence" the bike with your body weight and strength to make the bike do what you want as you negotiate the rough trails of the backcountry.

Be sure to take some steps to condition yourself with regular exercise, and fuel yourself properly with nutritious food. 🍳 This is important both in your preparation for training, tours and big rides, as well as during these rides.

You as the "pilot" are an integral part of the package, you can have the best bike and gear, but if you are not strong enough to pick up your bike(if and when it tips over), or you don't have the physical endurance to complete the journeys you want to take, then you won't have much fun 😉

Located high in the Rocky Mountains on the Continental Divide Trail, in the heart of the best Adventure Riding in America lies RawHyde Colorado.

Day 10 of RawHydes SPAM tour brings us to Portugal… and the cork forests! Interesting factoid…. Portugal produces more than 60% of the world cork for wine bottles! It’s $1 billion industry, and the outer layer of bark from the trees is harvested every few years to produce the corks for our wine…

The UNESCO heritage site known as the Medina of Fes is astounding! 600,000 people living multigenerationally in the closest quarters imaginable… and no one has an address! Seriously… none of the 9000 alleys have a name… and there are no street addresses!
It was a mind boggling experience wandering the alleys of Fes!

End of day Three on our Spain, Portugal and Morocco tour (SPAM)
Well… We have Hollywood, Bollywood, and now Ourazawood! I had no idea that Morocco had had a desert based film studio, providing fabulous venues for any kind of a movie with a desert scene! Black Hawk down, Gladiator, Ben Hur and Cleopatra, along with hundreds of other movies have been filmed here!
Also Mel Gibson filmed Passion of the Christ here!
And to top it off, there is an awesome hotel called the Oscar hotel… Which was our home for the night …

Day 2 of our Moroccan adventure was a 200 mile ride from the capital city of Rabat to the ancient city of Marrakesh! we had dinner last night on the edge of the ancient square at a restaurant with an amazing view of the square. However, the level of chaos was somewhat mindnumbing… Everything from snake charmers to merchants selling every imaginable product. And… Just for grins Peter and I both purchased some local apparel.😉

Day one of our SPAM tour saw us, leaving Spain, taking a ferry across the straight of Gibraltar to Morocco! This video is from the capital city of Rabat, and it’s Medina, (which is the original 700 year old city center )which is also a UNESCO world heritage site… this is our first day on the road.
