IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TRAVEL TO THE UK...

The UK Government has announced the next phase in the roll out of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). An ETA gives visitors permission to travel to the UK. By April 2025, all visitors who do not need a visa will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to the UK.

An ETA for American visitors will be required to enter the UK starting January 8th, 2025. Americans can apply in advance starting November 27, 2024.

The ETA will be linked to the traveller's passport and will last for two years or until the traveller's passport expires – whichever comes first.

Dates and Requirements:
- Eligible non-Europeans can apply in advance from November 27, 2024 and will need an ETA to travel from 8 January 2025.
- Eligible Europeans can apply from March 5, 2025 and will need an ETA to travel from 2 April 2025.

Costs:
An ETA costs £10 and permits multiple journeys to the UK for stays of up to six months at a time over two years or until the holder’s passport expires.

As luck would have it, we were in Toledo, Spain on the day of their biggest festival (Corpus Christi https://www.spanish-fiestas.com/festivals/corpus-christi/). Toledo is an incredible ancient city that was originally the capital of Spain. It is known for marzipan, the painter El Greco and Cervantes, who wrote Don Quixote. Very amazing city and so fortunate to be able to witness the processional of the Custodia, a priceless work of art dating from 1515, made of gold, silver, pearls and other precious gems and weighing in at over 350 pounds.

At Waterloo Weddings Event

The adults only Riu Palace Paradise Island, Nassau Bahamas. I’d give this a solid 4 out of 5. Everything has been very nice. Not over the top, but the price isn’t over the top, either. Really good food (4 ala carte restaurants and a buffet for dinner, jerk shack or buffet for lunch) good drinks and daily entertainment. Everything is clean and the staff has been “Bahamian Nice”. And, oh that Bahamas water and white sand. Unbeatable. I’ve enjoyed my visit. #LighthouseTravelRocks #ForAGoodTimeCallUs #WeGoSoYouKnow
