This might go against the norm, but I would pick the desert! There's something beautiful about the outwardly peaceful landscape of the desert - the colors of earth and rough geography - it appeals to my primal self!

As my kids have gotten older, I have begun to realize the importance of being in the moment. The seasons of their lives are fleeting and over the past few years, my husband and I have started focusing our budget - holidays - Christmas and birthdays, for example - on creating memories through experiences; not through THINGS. I looked back to my own childhood and aside from my Cabbage Patch Kid I got for my 10th birthday (her name is Diana - and I still have her), I cannot remember a single specific gift I received. I DO; however, remember camping with my dad, trips I took to Disney with my mom, a vacation to Aruba my mom and I took and trips to see family all over the country. This tells me something important; these memories made traveling (amongst living life in general) the parts of my childhood that I can recall most - the memories I cherish the most. This life of experience and memories is what I want to give to my kids and what I want to help others experience as well. Live your life well; live it together; make the memories; explore the world and all the wonders there for you to uncover.
