The LOW SEASON DOCK RATE WILL BE $1.75 per foot of the vessel round trip!!

There is free street parking, free parking at a large shopping center, and metered parking if you want to pay for it.

Hello Facebook friends, and family.

I have had a several different incidents happen over the last several weeks including this past weekend which prompted me to do my routine account of my Captains bag.

I thought it might be beneficial for those of you who don’t fully understand the responsibilities that I take on being a USCG MMC merchant mariner credential holder (Boat Captain).

I have saved people from drowning. Adults, and children. I have put out fires on board vessels I have run. I have stopped vessels from taking on water while underway in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. I have administered first aid while on charter, and at the dock for lacerations large, and small. I have rescued people who have been hit by boats, and run into other vessels on jetskis.

I could go on for a long time telling about the things that have happened while I have been the master of a vessel.

My first responsibility as the Master is no matter what vessel I am running be it a deckboat, or pontoon boat, a fishing vessel, or yacht is to maintain the safety of all the clients, the crew, the people around us, and the vessel itself.

This starts before leaving the dock. I check the vessel eveytime to make sure its safe, and supplied correctly. No matter what happens I am the MASTER of the vessel. All responsibilities fall on ME.

If there is an injury I am the medic onboard. I am FIRST AID, CPR, AED trained.

In my captains DRY bag I carry:

1. ALL of my credentials plus state, and federal licenses, registrations, and USCG rule book.
2. Floating Handheld VHF radio
3. An EPIRB GPS locator
4. Multiple flashlights
5. Multiple knives
6. A multi tool leatherman
7. Lighters to make fire
8. A gallon bag of Non perishable Snacks to survive if stranded
9. Solar powered usb phone chargers (new addition).
10. Multiple phone chargers, and 12v carplugs
11. An emergency suture kit
12. A tourniquet kit
13. Ibuprofen and Tylenol
14. A full first aid kit with bandages, and large, and small gauze wound dressings, a CPR mask.
15. Multiple dry Towels
16. Mutiple noise making devices. A whistle, and yes Pirate 🏴‍☠️ Chicken 🐓 makes a loud squeak.
17. Earplugs
18. Spare Sunglasses
