The seemingly endless rural splendor here in the Laurel Highlands is only broken up by vast areas of wild nature, beautiful parks and quaint towns. But what could possibly be more emblematic of the rural experience than an historic, covered bridge? Well, should you find a fisherman wading the gurgling, sparkling trout waters beneath that covered bridge, you just may have experienced one of the quintessential moments to be found in the Great American rural landscape. Or perhaps, you will be the person beneath that bridge, angling for rising rainbow and golden trout. There’s an awful lot of these experiences to be found here. We hope you will check it out, as it is packed with information about our property, and an extensive listing of regional sites and attractions of all types.

After nearly two months of intensive renovations and improvements, we are at last in the home stretch of wrapping up the “next level” Legends Woodland Lodge experience. In two weeks we will be ready to lift the curtain on what we have been hard at work creating. In June, we have some special guests, who will be the first to see and enjoy the Legends.

We hope you will bookmark our new web page as new images of the Lodge will be posted as we polish up our rustic gem.

We are hard at work, creating Legends Woodland Lodge 2.0.

Question: Wait! Didn’t you just change the name to Legends Woodland Lodge, like, a couple of months ago?

Answer: Why yes… yes we did. Considerable work had already been done and we had set aside much of April to concentrate on major upgrades and renovations to be deserving of our new “Legends” status.

However, because of recent events we have been given some additional time to work. We looked at our extensive and exciting plans within a timeline of 2 to 3 years out and decided to make it a reality now. Top to bottom, room by room, upgraded, beautified, shiny (in our uniquely rustic way) and new! We are so excited to be able to take something so special and raise it to the next level.

The process doesn’t end with our current work. There is even more to come. We will be working on a trail system so that our guests can further explore the cool, quiet beauty of our vast forest. There will be new opportunities for outdoor fun and entertainment. And, to set our property even further apart from the rest, we will be creating a gallery quality art installation that will transform the Lodge into a unique, one-of-a-kind gallery. We want every room in the Lodge to be worth experiencing (yes, even the bathrooms.)

We can’t wait for you to visit the next level of Legends Woodland Lodge 2.0.

A message on the times, to our friends and guests:

During these anxious and troubling times, we want to wish all our guests and dear friends; peace, health and the joys of friends and family, in whatever way you can safely reach out to them.

We wanted to let you know as well, just how recent events have impacted the Legends Woodland Lodge. By a great coincidence, we were slated to be closed for nearly a month at the time the pandemic became a nearly overnight issue. During this time, we had major work planned as the property is in a very active process of refinement and upgrades. The additional time we now have, has actually turned into an enormous opportunity. The Legend’s experience is being elevated to a magnificent new level.

We look forward to the brighter days soon to come, when friends and families can one again find comfort in spending quality time together. We are completely committed to offering you an even more extraordinary woodland retreat - where our peaceful surroundings and beautiful lodge can serve as a conduit, bringing us all back together in the most meaningful and memorable way possible.

We will be sharing updates on what is happening here in the weeks ahead.

When we asked you who, or what should take over for Santa on our guestbook table, we listened. Here in Western PA we just had to give Punxsutawney Phil the adorable starring role. However, we wanted to incorporate all the great seasonal ideas we received, so Phil is fully into celebrating Valentines Day, St, Patty's Day and sporting some snowflake bling. Thanks everyone for helping us put it all together!
