Located on the second floor, Ackland Upstairs is a dynamic space, with art changing every eight weeks during the academic year. The Ackland staff collaborates with UNC-Chapel Hill faculty to create installations that support their courses, drawing from the thousands of artworks stored in the Museum’s vaults. As a result, there is always something new on view Upstairs, and always a new context in which to consider it. For faculty and students, Ackland Upstairs is an extension of their classroom. For all Ackland visitors, it offers a glimpse into the courses taught on campus and a window into the Museum’s extensive holdings.

Few people knew John Lennon as intimately as May Pang. Pang was Lennon’s lover during the infamous “Lost Weekend” which lasted 18 months during late 1973 through 1975. During this highly creative time for Lennon, Pang took candid photos of Lennon in a comfortable, relaxed environment.

A collection of these private photographs will be on display and available for purchase at Higgins & Myers Custom Framing & Fine Art Gallery, 1728 Fordham Blvd (Rams Plaza), Chapel Hill, NC., on Friday, November 8 through Sunday, November 10.

May Pang will be in attendance meeting customers and telling stories behind the se amazing limited-edition photographs for sale of John Lennon.

Admission to the exhibit is free to the public.
