Since the inception of the meal packaging program in December 2005, these meals have been used primarily to support school feeding programs in developing countries. Hunger is the common thread among the world’s most challenging issues. Targeting hunger — specifically by supporting school feeding programs — leverages support to other causes including poverty, disease, education, and the welfare of women and children. For more information on Rise Against Hunger and their mission, visit www.riseagainsthunger.org.
Student Organizations that choose to sponsor the Rise Against Hunger event will be featured on the t-shirt that is given to each participant and will receive Chapter Standards points as a community service project.
If you are interested in sponsoring the service event, please submit the Budget Dispersal Form by Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
Additional ways to participate in Commencement include:
Attend the Alumni Rally
The Alumni Welcome Rally fosters community, celebrates the achievement of graduates, and provides information about University programs available to students and alumni. During the event, alumni, current students, and potential members will also have the opportunity to learn more about student organizations. For more information, including hosting requirements, please review the Alumni Rally Agreement. The deadline to reserve a table is March 15, 2017; we have guaranteed space for 25 organizations.
Submit a Congratulatory Video
Student Organization leaders and members can submit a video congratulating the class of 2017. Student organizations will receive extra credit in the chapter standards program for videos submitted by March 8, 2017; 1 point per video, maximum 5 points per organization. For more information, visit the video submission page.
