excellent... clear water, plenty of fish, and very low chances of seeing other people!

Black Drum aren't the most desirable fish for most anglers, but sight casting to large schools of them in crystal clear water is pretty fun to me!

When they tell you they want to catch big Reds on the fly....
I've heard of Red Snapper being caught on fly, but never seen anything like this. For those interested in the details: 100ft+ water depth, 12wt rod, 500 grain sink tip line, 12 POUND TIPPET, and a TINY trigger fish fly on a sz 1 hook.
We were catching some triggers one after another, but with this take the drag started screaming and did not want to stop. After one heck of a battle we got him up, took a quick photo, and promptly sent her back to the depths. I think this may possibly have been some sort of record, but Red Snapper can't be harvested in SC right now, so we will never know!

Fun but challenging week fly fishing with Kimberly and Vincent recently. Low tides were tough, but September king tides never seem to let us down!

There aren't too many perfect fishing days, but today was definitely one of them. Got to the boat landing at 9am, off the water by 3pm. Perfect weather, clean water, happy fish, with a great angler and friend on the bow to enjoy the beautiful marshes!
