Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom Park is introducing quite a few new menu items to various dining locations throughout the park! These options are available now!

Following is a sampling of the new menu items:

First up -- Harambe Market. There are new rice bowls including Chicken and Shrimp Rice Bowl, Chicken Rice Bowl, and a Shrimp Rice Bowl. Also, there is a Beef and Lamb Kofta Pita and an IMPOSSIBLE Kofta Pita (which is a plant-based option). Finally there is a Harambe Salad with Chicken and for dessert a Mango Passion Fruit Cheesecake.

Newly available at many dining locations and carts is a Stuffed Pancake Sandwich with sausage, guava paste, egg and cheese.

At the Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery they are debuting an Egg and Bacon Croissant Sandwich w/Tomato Pepper Relish, Breakfast Totchos with Eggs, Bacon and Cheese, the IMPOSSIBLE Gatsby (plant-based) and a Harissa Chicken Wrap.

And for my personal favorite topic let's go to Tamu Tamu Refreshments. I love DOLE Whips and they have some great ones! A DOLE Whip Orange Soda Float and for those 21 years old and older the DOLE Whip Float with Parrot Bay Coconut Rum and a DOLE Whip Hard Cider Float!

Happy World Teachers' Day 2023!

Today, we celebrate the incredible educators who shape minds, hearts, and futures!

I fondly remember and celebrate the remarkable life and legacy of my late uncle, Herman Hedberg Hobbs, a true luminary in the world of education and science. My uncle was a brilliant professor of physics at George Washington University, leaving an indelible mark on the field. He garnered grants from NASA and the U.S. Army. What set him apart was his ability to make the complex world of physics and astronomy accessible and exciting for the non-scientist.

I'd also like to honor my niece, Hannah! She is making waves as an outstanding teacher at Kipp East Academy in New Orleans. Her innovative teaching methods, nurturing approach and boundless enthusiasm inspire young learners. She is empowering futures, one lesson at a time.

Finally, I would like to mention my daughter Amanda's favorite teacher, Ms. Thomas. The best teachers teach from the heart, not from the book! Her passion for her students goes beyond the classroom inspiring a lifelong love for learning. Ms. Thomas has truly made a difference in Amanda's life.

Tuesday's Tip! -- the hidden gem that is Olivia's Cafe at the Old Key West Resort in Disney World. Disney describes it as hearty home cooking with a taste of the Florida Keys. I describe it as wonderful food in a very relaxed atmosphere which is quite nice as a break from the parks. From the sandwiches to the veggie burger (my 19-year old daughter's favorite) to the milkshakes (my youngest daughter's favorite) we had a fantastic meal. Today's tip for Tuesday is to explore the places to eat around the World Showcase in Epcot at the Walt Disney Resort. There are eleven countries in the World Showcase to explore! They all have authentic cuisine from their particular country. One of my favorites is Via Napoli. Their pizzas are amazing!
