6 years and 585 adoptions later, it is time for us to close our doors for good. Thank you to everyone who came out to support us one last time. We successfully found homes all but 3 of the colony cats, which will be returning to their foster to get adopted through our rescue partner. Jasper, Penguin, and Tall Tom are all still available.

Lots of tears have been and will be shed as we remember Daily Mews and all of the wonderful memories that have been created here. Thank you to all of our adopters, guests, supporters, and staff over the years. We could not have done it without you. If you have a favorite memory or photo, please share it below. We'd love to hear your stories.

Josie - 9 months old, Gray tabby and white short hair, female. Josie would do well in most households. She is very outgoing, curious, and playful. She'd be great as a companion animal or an only cat.

Emee - 1 year old, Calico short hair. A sweet little lap cat who has a raspy little meow and a big heart. She's new here and still getting used to the place but feels right at home with humans. Just sit next to her and she'll likely crawl into your lap! She's won the affection of staff and guests and we are hoping she finds a home very soon!

Rusty - 4 months old, orange tabby short hair, Male. Rusty is still learning how to be a cat and would need another kitty friend at home to help him build more confidence. He has that typical orange cat silly energy but is still getting used to receiving pets.

Tall Tom - 3 years old, gray tabby short hair, male. Tall Tom is a long boy that loves to talk. He does not like being away from his human friends and will be sure to tell you how he feels about it. He would do well in a variety of households and has a nice laid back, sweet energy.

Jasper - 2 years old, gray short hair, male. Jasper has had such a journey with us and we are so proud of his progress. It has taken him months to feel comfortable with us and is now coming down to meet the guests and play with the kittens. He is a great companion if you have a shy or young cat at home. He seems to enjoy playing Big Brother.

Penguin - Penguin is a very loving, sweet cat as long as you go slow with him. He absolutely loves chin rubs and is highly food-motivated. You may lose a hand when offering a Churu but it is a surefire way to his heart. Penguin is required to have a friend at home as he has some anxiety when he is left alone. He has really latched on to Jasper and is often glued to his side at all times. We would LOVE to see these two go to a home together.

Important Message to Our Supporters:

For the past six years, Daily Mews has made a positive difference in the Charlotte community. With the support of our dedicated employees, animal rescue partners and customers, nearly six hundred cats have been placed in safe, loving, forever homes.

It is a mission we have undertaken with love, and have persevered and sustained our mission through many tough times, including the Covid pandemic, economic uncertainty, and feline health emergencies. We have always made the cats' well-being our top priority, and we are proud of the happiness we've been able to bring to many wonderful pets and pet families.

At this time, we have made the very difficult decision that it is time to draw this chapter of our lives to a close. We have experienced some recent challenging events that contributed to this unfortunate outcome. Though we will greatly miss our role operating a cat cafe in Charlotte, we will continue to be active and involved in cat fostering and rescue.

Daily Mews will remain open to the public with our regular hours through the end of March. Our last day open will be Sunday, March 31. We will honor our commitments to boarding reservations at least through the end of March. If you have a cat lounge or boarding reservation after our closing date, we will issue a refund.

We do still have a colony of rescue cats residing with us, and our hope is to find them all homes before our closure. We welcome our customers and community to come and visit during these final days to say goodbye.

We thank you all for your support and encourage you to continue supporting the cat community. We celebrate the growth of this community and the positive change and healing it brings. ❤

Meet Zoey, our adorable new arrival! At around 6 months old, she's still puzzling out how to be a confident cat. Zoey's photogenic charm melts hearts, and she loves cozying up with older feline pals for comfort. You'll often find her perched high, observing the world with curious eyes. While crowds can make her a tad nervous, she's a playful spirit at heart, especially when feeling at ease. Zoey thrives in calm environments and would flourish in a quieter home with a furry companion by her side.

Rory says "TGIF! I get to see my human friends this weekend 😸". We're open until 5pm today with space for walk-ins and reservations but we are FULLY BOOKED on Saturday, 2/10.

If you are interested in adopting, Rory (pictured hilariously below) and Amelia are a dynamic sibling duo that will keep you on your toes and entertained! They are both extremely playful, sweet, and absolutely LOVE to be held. Our staff usually has to throw Rory over their shoulder while they're working to keep him happy and out of the way. Sometimes the cats get a little TOO excited about the Bird TV and we have to take a break and turn it off. No worries -- Scooter is just fine after his dramatic tumble. It was an admirable attempt.

Our little Easter Egg hunters are hard at work this weekend!🐣❤️💕 We are OPEN Easter Sunday our usual hours (11am-6pm) and we’ll have a special little Easter Egg hunt happening in the Cat Lounge!

The best part this video is when Carly mimics Neytiri and then looks at her for approval. "I wanna be just like you, big sister!" Neytiri and Carly aren't siblings. They have never met each other until coming to Daily Mews but Carly quickly won Neytiri over and soon they become the best of friends. They can usually be found snuggling together in the garden windows with Neytiri diligently grooming Carly to make sure she looks her very best for her potential adopters. Neytiri has a motherly side and it shows with her affection for Carly, who is happy to have someone to look up to. These cuties are available for adoption and even though they did not arrive together, we think they have become bonded over time and will thrive together in a new home. She FINALLY has an approved adoption!✨🎉 Athena will be leaving us on the 5 month anniversary of being returned to Daily Mews after being adopted nearly a year prior. (No hard feelings, everyone in this situation SO much happier, including Athena!)😻😻 We’re so excited for this girl to have her own space with lots of attention at home.💕🐾
