YOU MUST BE AGGRESSIVE IN A WINNING POSITION. You don’t get many opportunities in this game so when you get a short ball, you have to be aggressive, even if you miss it. The opponent needs to know you’re going to go for those shots. If you are tentative, the opponent will feel less and less pressure during a neutral situation and conversely their neutral ball will play deeper and more aggressive. -This will happen naturally because they don’t feel any pressure from you. You must put pressure on the opponent when the ball is weak. Win or lose. Good luck. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
Tennis tip: What you give is what you get. In extreme situations, what you give is usually what you get. If you give a super low drop shot, the opponent will have nothing able to do but hit a drop shot back. If you give a deep extreme lob, the opponent will play defense and lob back. Be aware of extremes. What you give, is what you get. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
Second Serve Tip: Use the body serve more. The best way to defend when hitting a second serve is to find the body and try to jam the opponent. You don’t want them to get extension with their hands. Many time we try to go out wide or down the T and they just leads TP more extension for them. So go into the body for the second serve so they cannot extend their hands. -Good luck#tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
DOUBLES TIP: Play through the middle of the court. The most effective and high percentage play in doubles is to play through the center of the court. Now this valley is super easy, but it doesn’t change the rule. You still want to play through the center of the court and split the opponents. Remember the rule: Down the middle solves, the riddle. So if you are confused play through the middle of the court.#tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
LOW BALL ON THE RISE TIP: Low balls on the rise from the baseline can be some of the trickiest balls to deal with. One way that can help is to drop the back knee to the ground on contact. This will help you stay low throw the shot, making for more solid stroke production by keeping your racquet on the ball. It may take pace off the ball, but that’s your least concern when you’re dealing with a ball on the rise with a lot of pace. In this situation, all you have to do is redirect the ball and this will help you do that. So don’t worry about pace on the shot. Worry about timing and staying low.-Good luck. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
TENNIS PATTERN TIP:Run around and hit inside out with your best stroke. One of the best patterns to implement is to run around your backhand and play the forehand from close to the center of the court, over the low part of the net inside out. Usually this play goes to the righty’s back hand and this instance it’s to the lefty, but it’s still effective because you’re hitting your best stroke and keeping the person on the run. Use this pattern as often as you can: Inside out forehand to the backhand of the righty. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
TAKE THE HIGH BALL ON THE RISE WHEN YOU WANT TO STAY NEUTRAL Staying even in a neutral is very important so when you get a highball, you gotta stay on the baseline and take it on the way up. -You cannot back up on a ball that has got a lot of top spin. It’s gonna end up bouncing high and you’ll end up hitting the ball above your shoulder and far behind the baseline. That is two negative situations. So take it early. Don’t let the ball get too high and stay close to the baseline in a neutral rally. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
Tennis tip: Stay low through contact. You’ll have better control of the ball. The best way to have control over the ground stroke is to stay low through the shot. -Some people don’t get as low as this particular player, but it can be highly effective. If you stay low through the shot and I mean super low like this, it can’t work wonders for your consistency. -Almost imagine you’re in a tunnel going through the shot. This will help you control the ball and dictate from a neutral position#tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
POWER ON THE BACKHAND COMES FROM THE NON-DOMINANT ARM-Two handed backhand power is about driving the non-dominant arm straight through the zone. -Keep your wrist firm through the shot and create a sweeping motion for the most power more.#tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
Return tip:If you take it early you better move the opponent away from the center. Taking to return early can be highly effective, but if you step inside the court that much and don’t do enough with the return, you are caught in a negative position. An early return hit only neutral, can put you halfway inside the baseline with little timeto recover. In this instance, the player hits the return back down the middle and has to quickly recover back to neutral. They get pushed off the court but luckily the opponent misses the next ball. But the whole forehand side of the court was open. -So be very careful taking it early on the return. You have to have clear intent as to location and aggression.-Good luck. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
Tennis tip: Changing speeds can create opportunities. -Variation can create many opportunities. You see in this point where the ball is elevated with a cross court slice at a slower speed. This makes the opponent hesitate just enough for the next ball to be hit hard and flat up the line. The change of speed creates the opening because the opponent is only slightly behind the tempo. -It only takes a small change in speed to make a big difference. So use the slice, flat ball and top spin to keep the opponent off balance. -Good luck. #tennis #tips #chathamnj #summitnj #madisonnj #foryoupage #highschooltennis #collegetennis
