Adventures in Storyland 1st Annual Literacy Event - Being Held September 8th 2012 at the Alexander Community Center

The Rotary Club of Cheektowaga will be holding a literacy fair on September 8th, 2012, which is also International Literacy Day, at the Alexander Community Center in Cheektowaga, NY. We will be hosting various events geared toward literacy including story readings and childrenʼs activities hosted by the Cheektowaga Town Library, writing and storytelling workshops by local authors and the Young Wri

terʼs Studio and many more activities. Keynote speeches and other workshops will feature Bruce George, the cocreator of Def Poetry Jam, and Modie Cox and John Wallace, co-founders of Winning Because I Tried, a
local youth mentoring program.
