Chehalis, WA, plays a significant role in the history of the modern UFO since, in 1947, it was the point of departure for a flight during which Kenneth A. Arnold observed nine unusual objects flying in formation at incredible speeds. He described their movement as "like a saucer if you skip it across the water," which led to the coining of the term "flying saucer". Chehalis serves as the starting point of this historic journey that forever changed the landscape of UFO research and popular culture.

The Chehalis Flying Saucer Party is a unique and whimsical celebration of this remarkable history with the The Northwest Flying Saucer Film Fest at McFiler's Chehalis Theater on September 13th, and speakers, vendors, live music, an alien invasion costume parade, and more on September 14th. This one of a kind event benefits the Lewis County Historical Museum in downtown Chehalis.

The end of lavender season is approaching but it's not too late to stop by this gorgeous farm for some fresh cut lavender.

We have been a little quiet lately but that is because we are all involved in the short harvesting window. Drop in too see us, currently 9 rows (1800 plants) remain as we slowly but steadily process out our lavender. U-Cut is still going strong and as long as the still is running we still will honor our 1/2 price hydrosol deal if you bring your own container to fill. 1 gallon to 50 gallon filled on site either variety.🪻Every Fri-Sun

Huckleberry Season on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest ❤

Each August, many in the Northwest look forward to collecting huckleberries and other wild berries on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Forest managers would like to remind the public that a permit is required to remove any berries from the Forest. A free-use permit for personal consumption is available online (link below) and beginning Monday, August 12, commercial use berry permits will be available at Ranger District offices in Randle, Amboy, and Trout Lake.

Please be courteous and respectful of pickers and avoid any areas that may be closed to berry removal.
