Not just today, but everyday let’s be thankful how precious the gift of freedom is. Each year we pay tribute to the brave souls who fought for it.
In current times, we have a different enemy on the lines. We thank all the frontline workers of our country for their resilience and grit in the fight against Covid-19. Let’s take a moment to think of their sacrifice and what they had to pay for the freedom and good health we enjoy. We salute the heroes of the past and the present!

Tigers have always been iconic animals in the big cat kingdom. The planned efforts of Project Tiger that was launched in India in 1973, has led the country to have the maximum number of tigers in the world.
They are apex predators who keep a healthy diversity and balance in the ecosystem. A number of issues like poaching, man and animal conflict and habitat loss pose a threat to the Tiger population around the world.
This International Tiger Day, let’s do our bit to make sure that these extraordinary cats continue to stroll our jungles and become icons of global conservation.

India largely being an agricultural country, the harvest festivals are a treat to watch.

14th April, marks the celebration of the first harvest festival of the year known as Baisakhi in Punjab,Vishu in Kerala and Bihu in Assam. People in North India get together, dance, sing traditional folk songs, pray for abundant harvest and future prosperity. For South India this is their new year where people adorn new clothes and prepare delicious ‘sadya’ to celebrate the joy of the day. And in Assam women, men and children are seen singing, feasting, exchanging gifts, seeking blessings from elders and performing the traditional Bihu dance on this day.
This is that time of the year, when you can catch a glimpse of India's diverse cultures and traditions coming together beautifully.

Soft at the centre and crispy at the edges, Tandoori naan is India’s favourite bread and the best companion to curries and delicious meaty dishes.
Taking its origin from Persia, it was prepared for royals during the Mughal period in India. The leavened bread uses a yeast starter and is mixed with milk or yogurt to create a smooth and elastic dough. Cooked in a traditional tandoor (clay oven) giving it a smoky flavour and crunchy edges, this bread reminds one of India’s illustrious culinary legacy.

Pothichoru is happiness and nostalgia wrapped inside a banana leaf.
In olden days in Kerala, Pothichoru was a way of sustenance for Kerala’s working class. Rice, chammanthi (chutney), pickle, thoran (dry vegetables), fried fish or omelette wrapped in a burnt wilted banana leaf and secured with a coarse string made it easy to carry this yummy package around.
Before lunch boxes and Uber eats came into our lives, Pothichoru with its unique flavours and signature aroma was the perfect way to enjoy a home cooked meal away from home.

Sri Lanka is filled with many surprises and one of them is a popular fishing method called ‘Ritipanna’ the Sinhalese term for Stilt Fishing.
It began just after World War II and this unique style of fishing involves a narrow pole that is tied to a stick and anchored on the sea bed. Fisher folk climb onto this stick and settle on the pole for a few hours in an effort to catch some fish.
You can try this method yourself while gazing at the panoramic views of the sea!
