What a pleasure it was to play a small part in a 50th wedding anniversary! When the couple's lovely daughters could not celebrate with their parents together, Peace of Time Concierge enabled them to be there from afar by safely coordinating and delivering flowers, cake, champagne...even dinner! These sweet girls sadly could not be there in person, but they certainly gave them hugs and love in spirit!

Traditions
Throughout the years, often traditions encompass our special moments, especially during a holiday time. They remind us of previous times or people with feelings, tastes and even smells. Traditions may bring us joy realizing that we have continued with something that might have started years prior, or comfort in knowing that while so much changes, some things remain the same.

Your tradition may be to not do the same thing every year! My mom and I used to scour magazines and cookbooks for different Christmas dinner recipes to create (yes…this was how it was done before the Internet!) Or you may choose to prepare your holiday feast with well-used recipes from years past. Every holiday I happily cook John’s grandmother’s Indian Pudding recipe for his family (even with instructions such as “little” of an ingredient and a guess as to the temperate to cook it!) It allows me to think of this wonderful person every single time I make it.

I love hearing about what and how people celebrate, and feel it brings understanding of another’s culture or background. What holiday do you celebrate? Do you carry on a particular tradition every year? Is there a time-honored food that you prepare or have every year? Holiday plate ware or special decorations? How about a certain outfit that is worn only on that day? Do you do something wacky only at this time? Maybe you had to abandon something in 2020 that is done every year.
