HOW TO EMPOWER CHILDREN THROUGH TRAVELING … 🌎 🚂 ✈️ 🛥️ 🚲 🌏

Embarking on the exhilarating journey of parenthood, we chose to gift our 6 children with a treasure beyond measure – the world itself. Instead of showering them with material possessions, we opted for a unique approach: the world as their classroom.

Homeschooling became synonymous with 'World Schooling,' a transformative concept where learning transcended the confines of textbooks. Real experiences, exotic locales, and connections with people from across the globe became the building blocks of their education. And the icing on the cake? Travel was their ultimate reward.

One of our first adventures took flight in April of 2007, when our children, aged 15, 14, 12, 9, 7, and 5, embarked on an odyssey of a lifetime. The journey began in Chicago, then we soared to the heart of Jordan 🇯🇴, finally landing in the enchanting land of Damascus, Syria 🇸🇾. But this was no ordinary trip; it was an immersive exploration of culture. Our family wasn't merely visiting relatives; we were diving headfirst into a world of Arabic and Quran studies at Abu Noor University. After two profound months of growth and enlightenment, we set our compass for Turkey 🇹🇷, where two additional weeks of adventure awaited.

Planning these expeditions was a family affair, and it was here that our children truly came into their own. They became savvy researchers, hunting for the best flight deals and crafting alternative, budget-friendly routes. Booking accommodations online became second nature. Learning 200 essential Arabic and Turkish phrases was just the beginning of their linguistic conquests. Managing budgets, handling unforeseen challenges with grace, and uncovering the hidden histories of our destinations were part of the journey. They became transportation experts, figuring out the most efficient ways to navigate foreign cities. And let's not forget the culinary escapades as they savored local delicacies, adding another layer to their cultural education.

These responsibilities were not just about travel logistics; they were about building character. Our adventures became a masterclass in compassion, empathy, resilience, self-reliance, gratitude, generosity, and humility – life lessons not typically found in textbooks. The global perspective they gained was the greatest gift of all.

Today, we stand in awe as our children, now parents themselves, continue to carry the torch of 'World Schooling' forward. They've taken this legacy and expanded it, gifting their own children with a world of wonder.

Our shared memories, Alhamdulillah, have not only shaped our lives but continue to illuminate the path for generations to come. The world truly is our classroom, and it's a journey filled with boundless discoveries, open doors, and a lifelong love for learning.

🇸🇦🇸🇦🕋🕋🕋 UMRAH 2021 🕋🕋🕋🇸🇦🇸🇦

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has confirmed that foreign pilgrims will be allowed to partake in the Umrah starting from 10 August 2021. The announcement also states that unfortunately, the direct entry of expatriates for Umrah from nine countries facing travel bans remains in force. These countries are India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Egypt, Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa and Lebanon.

However, the ban doesn’t necessarily prohibit foreign pilgrims from said countries from entering Saudi Arabia provided that they are willing and able to spend 14 days in a third country following their departure. Foreign pilgrims outside the aforementioned countries may travel directly to Saudi Arabia to fulfill their religious calling.

🕋🕋🕋💉💉💉💉 Umrah 2021 guidelines and vaccine requirement 💉💉💉💉🕋🕋🕋

The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has stated that the kingdom will only allow pilgrims who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered from coronavirus to embark on the pilgrimage into the Masjid al Haram in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina. In the case of foreign pilgrims, Umrah visas will only be issued to fully vaccinated individuals.

Additionally, the authorities require aspiring pilgrims to be in excellent health conditions and adhere to protocols aimed at ensuring the safety of pilgrims coming from abroad.

🔷️🔶️🔷️🔶️ UMRAH APP 🔶️🔷️🔶️🔷️
An individual’s vaccination status will first need to be registered on Saudi Arabia’s COVID-19 app, Tawakkalna and the Umrah app Eatmarna. The Tawakkalna and Eatmarna apps are the only official portals authorized to issue genuine permits, and the authorities have warned the public to avoid shady websites and filling out bogus forms.

The Ministry of Hajj has announced a set of guidelines regarding the implementation of Umrah and Ramadan prayer this year, mandating that Taraweeh and night prayers should not exceed 30 minutes in all masjids across the Kingdom. Also, no children will be allowed to enter the two main masjids.

Every worshipper must ensure that they have the proper permit to enter the masjids while always attempting to maintain social distancing. Those who are caught entering the masjids without a permit will be fined SR1,000. Furthermore, unauthorized vehicles will not be allowed in the central region around Makkah, and worshippers must arrive on time or risk losing their time slot.

🌍🌍 Rules for foreign Umrah seekers 🌍🌍

✳First and foremost, foreign pilgrims must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 with complete doses of either Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or J&J. Complete doses of China’s vaccines with a booster shot of either Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca or J&J. Age 18 and above will be allowed.
✳For foreign pilgrims allowed to enter the kingdom and perform the Umrah this year, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has laid out specific rules and guidelines to be followed, as follows:
✳Pilgrims are required to visit a care center in Makkah at least six hours before performing Umrah. This will allow the authorities to check their inoculation status according to the type of approved vaccines
✳Pilgrims will then be handed their bracelets and are required to wear them. They will then be ushered to the Al-Shubaikha gathering center where they must present their bracelets so that data and permits can be duly verified
✳All pilgrims must strictly abide by the Umrah date and time period allocated to them.
It’s also important to note that the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has authorized hotels to book Umrah pilgrims directly without any third-party involvement during Ramadan. This means that hotels in Makkah are in a position to assist foreign pilgrims wishing to undertake Umrah.

♦️ What type of visa is needed for Umrah?♦️
The Umrah visa is required for pilgrims looking to undertake the journey. The Umrah visa requirements are as follows:

➡️A completed original Umrah visa application form. The statement written at the end of the application form must be carefully read and signed. (To obtain a visa application form by post, send a large, self-addressed envelope to your nearest Saudi Consulate.)
Note: If someone has a non-Muslim name, he or she should submit a certificate from a mosque or an Islamic center stating that the applicant is a Muslim.
➡️One recent passport size color photograph with a white background should be attached to the application form. The photograph must be a full-face view in which the visa applicant is facing the camera directly. Side or angled views are NOT accepted.
➡️Passports should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of submission of the application form.
➡️Confirmed and non-refundable airline ticket. Departure from Saudi Arabia should be within two weeks from the date of entry.
Women and children should be accompanied by husband/father or a male relative (Mahram). Proof of relationship is required (a marriage certificate for a wife, a birth certificate for a child indicating the names of both parents). The Mahram must travel into and out of Saudi Arabia on the same flight as his wife and children.
➡️Note: If a woman is 45 years old or older, she is allowed to go without a Mahram if she travels with an organized group or family and submits a notarized No Objection Certificate from her Mahram.
➡️Note: If the applicant is not a national of the country he/she is applying from, a valid residency permit must be submitted with the application.
➡️A vaccination certificate against Meningococcal Meningitis should be attached. The certificate of vaccinations should have been issued not more than three years and not less than 10 days prior to entry to Saudi Arabia and it should be valid for three years. The vaccination certificate must be with the applicant on entry to Saudi Arabia.
➡️Umrah visa is valid for 2 weeks only. Within these 2 weeks, you should perform Umrah, making sure your departure from Saudi Arabia is within two weeks of the date of entry.
➡️Finally, the Umrah visa itself is free but you may need to pay for some services associated with the Umrah visa upon arrival in Saudi Arabia.

🕌🕌🕌🕋🕋🕋🕋 A step-by-step guide for all pilgrims: a quick recap. 🕌🕌🕌🕋🕋🕋
✅Those who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, those who have spent 14 days after the first dose, and those who have recovered from an infection may be granted a permit
✅Foreign pilgrims are required to have in their possession certificates proving they have been vaccinated against COVID-19
All pilgrims must reserve a spot using the Eatmarna or Tawakkalna app, after which an entry permit is issued.
✅At the Grand Mosque, the permit’s date and validity will be verified and checked. The permit holder’s immunization status will also be duly verified
✅A pilgrim can also perform the Umrah by booking accommodations at any hotel in the immediate vicinity of the Grand Mosque and taking advantage of the hotel’s assistance.
A foreign pilgrim will need to visit a health center if their health status has not been entered into Tawakkalna.

💕💕 Watch out for our November Umrah announcement, Insha'Allah 💕💕
