Hi, all! Well it’s been almost two years since we took the keys to the former Langlois’ Sandy Beach Resort on Halfmoon Lake in Tomahawk, WI. And though we have spent a significant portion of the last 723 days restoring the property to its original charm, we still can’t figure out what most of the keys on that giant key chain they gave us at closing were intended for. We have also had more than our share of surprises along the way: an old sock 🧦 halfheartedly plugging up an impressive leak in the basement, for one 😱.

So today is an exciting day for us at Green Canoe Landing! We are hanging up the tool belt, as our seasonal (June-September) cabins are ready! Your party of up to 17 will enjoy the entire private property to yourselves. We don’t rent out our cabins individually - the totally renovated main house and sleeping cabins are included with your summer booking. (The main house with accommodations for 9 is available for bookings year round.) Check out our cabin pics, and please be our guest “Up North” soon! 🛶🛶

Lincoln County Waiving Trail Passes at Underdown Recreation Area this Weekend

Coming up this weekend (February 5 and 6), Lincoln County will be waiving trail fees at their Underdown Recreation Area.

There's no shortage of outdoor activities here in the Northwoods during the winter months including silent sports. The Underdown Recreation area between Tomahawk and Merrill offers trails dedicated to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and fat-tire biking.

While users typically have to purchase a pass to utilize the trails, on Saturday and Sunday they can do so for free. It's a great way to showcase the grounds for those that may typically go elsewhere for their silent sports recreation.

The facilities are highlighted by more than 20 miles of cross-country ski trails of varying lengths and difficulties. A day pass for these trails is typically $8. For fat-tire biking and snowshoeing, a trail pass is typically $5.

Lincoln County has an Underdown Recreation Area webpage which offers additional information including trail conditions and downloadable trail maps.

We have been working hard to make our slice of the Northwoods ready for company! Check out these progress shots of the main house, which will be ready shortly for Winter 2021 rentals.
