Okay mamas… I’ve been seeing a lot of posts in Disney Facebook groups regarding breastfeeding. I breastfed both of my babies for 2 years EACH. That’s 4 years of feeding my babies Shakira style… WHENEVER, WHEREVER. 😅
Some helpful tips for breastfeeding at Disney…
1. Baby carrier! This made it so easy to whip out my b**b when baby needed to eat. It allowed me to be hands free and continue about my day. If you scroll through, in pictures 2 and 3, I’m feeding my babe! At the zoo and at the store! Im also wearing a carrier, but I LOVED my as well!
2. Wear a nursing bra with a loose fitting muscle tee or tank top. I always preferred the muscle tees because I could easily get to my b**bs and they allowed for airflow and are so lightweight! Let me know if you need recommendations and I can send you some!
3. Water!! Make sure you are staying hydrated… ESPECIALLY in the Disney heat! I carry a foldable water bottle with a satchel type thing. Haha! You can hit up any quick service spot and ask for iced water to fill up your water bottle.
4. Cooling towels in the heat… they are awesome! Trust me. Just wear it around your neck and it can help keep the both of you cooler.
5. Handheld fans or stroller fans… handheld fans are great if you are babywearing and stroller fans are essential if you are putting baby in the stroller.
6. If you need a break from the heat… use the care centers! They are located at each park and make for a nice, quiet place to nurse.
7. Finally, don’t be nervous or scared to breastfeed in public. Whether you choose to use a cover or not (I never did 😅), Disney is very breastfeeding friendly and chances are you’ll run into other breastfeeding mamas! I’ve seen them walking around while feeding, sitting in nice shaded spots, etc. What you are doing is beautiful. Don’t let anyone make you feel any type of negative way for it! You are wonder women! Solidarity, sisters!
