Peer Peer.i.od for Girls

Peer Peer.i.od for Girls Eve Hurley is the co-founder and visionary of Peer Peer.i.od for girls.

Ms Hurley, the eldest of ten siblings and big sister to six sisters had a less than satisfactory experience when she began her first monthly period at the age of eleven. After beginning me**es at school and staining her beautiful dress, and without any prior knowledge of what her monthly period would be like, she went to a teacher convinced she had been harmed. From that teacher she received assur

ance she had not been harmed, a Modess sanitary napkin, and a call to her mother to pick her up from school. Her mother, a wonderful mom, told her, "you are on your period, keep your private area clean, the sanitary napkins are kept in the linen closet, and stay away from boys." Eve did all of those things, still unsure as to why she was going through this traumatic experience and even more, why was it going to happen every month for it seemed the rest of her life. Armed with very little information and a mother who was not very forthcoming on the subject, she decided it would be her responsibility to make sure her sisters' experience would not be as traumatic as her own.
