“Twas just before Christmas, all the lights were ablaze,
They were heading to Chincoteague for the Christmas Parade.
Momma was packed and so was her spouse,
The family was coming. They needed a house!
Their puppy was with them and grandchildren (two).
They needed three bedrooms and two bathrooms too!
Santa could help them! They were on his good list.
So they sent him a message, “Which house should we pick?”
He offered to fly down and give his advice.
His sleigh was packed up and ready for flight.
He called for his ponies…the sleigh they would pull!
His mission was critical, “Alert NASA too!”
“Now Riptide! Now Thunderbolt! Now Blue Moon and Prince!
On Beach Baby, On Black Pearl, on Maverick and Ace!
As rapid as eagles, his courser’s did fly.
He picked up the family, and took to the sky.
At T’s corner, a turn they did make.
They flew over Wallops, to the Creamery for a break.
They trotted up Maddox, ‘round the circle to the right.
On Cedar Drive, they found Slack Tide, their home for the night.
They thanked Santa warmly…the home was a gem.
His, “No thanks necessary!”, came as he parted from them.
I heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
