The Vernon Fire Department and Recreation Department are proud to host the Vernon School of Horror from Thursday, October 31st through Saturday, November 2nd. The haunted house is located at 2808 Yellow Jacket Dr in Vernon. Entry is $10 per person. Any child under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Sunny Hills Civic Association will hold its 5th Annual Trunk or Treat event at Boat Lake, located at 4140 Galiano Court in Sunny Hills, tomorrow (Halloween night!) from 5-8 p.m. Entry and activities will be free to guests.

Bring the kids and enjoy games, face painting, candy and treats, a costume contest, a haunted trail, and great food! Don't miss this great community event for the whole family.

Chipley Trunk or Treat will be on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Jim Trawick Park, 1544 North Railroad Ave. in Chipley, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and come get their candy bags filled by local businesses and non-profits. This event is for children 12 years and younger accompanied by an adult.

The event will be held on the soccer field, but everyone is encouraged to park in the main entrance parking area. Additional parking will be available as needed.

The Black Barn Blossoms farm presents its second annual Sunflower Fall Festival on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 12-4pm. This event will include live entertainment, plenty of great vendors to shop, and food trucks. All kids activities are FREE! Tickets are $12 per person (kids 5 and under are free) and includes access to the concerts. The you-pick gardens will be open. Picked bouquets will be an additional fee. Make sure you bring your lawn chair or blanket to enjoy the music!

🌟 Washington County: Let’s Be the Helping Hand We Once Received! 🌟

As a community, we know the value of helping hands during tough times. Right now, we have the opportunity to give back to over 400 evacuees staying in our local hotels, motels, and campsites. They’ve been displaced and are in need of monetary donations and essential items to get through these challenging days.
We want to show the same generosity and hospitality that was extended to us during our own difficult times, such as after the hurricane. Let’s come together to make them feel welcome and supported!

Here’s how you can help:
Non-perishable food items
Toiletries (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.)
Baby supplies (diapers, wipes, formula)

💰 Monetary donations will also be greatly appreciated to provide immediate assistance.
