During yesterday's Boat-assisted Kayak Tour into the 10,000 Islands, our guide, Don McCumber, met up with a friend, Melodi Roberts. Melodi found an ancient Calusa Indian shell tool on the beach! In this video, Don explains how to recognize the features of this shell that indicate that it is a shell tool.
NOTE: it is illegal to take anything from the National Park. This ancient artifact is still on the island where it was found, available to be seen by other visitors to the park.
