Do you know a creative student in grades K-12 who loves fish? The Fish Art Contest is now open and is a great opportunity to introduce kids to native fish species found in Florida! Each student must submit an original illustration of a Florida native fish (from the specified list on the entry form) and a completed entry form. A piece of creative writing, no longer than one page, about the chosen species is also required for grades 4-12. Please note that digital artwork will not be accepted this year. What is a Reptile?

The reptile family includes snakes, alligators, lizards, turtles, and crocodiles. Reptiles are cold-blooded and breathe through their lungs, their dry, scaly skin prevents them from drying out. Amphibians and reptiles are often lumped together as herpetofauna, or “herps” for short.
