NEW BABY!!! We love that people come for longer stays between one and six months in fall and winter… and we just welcomed home a new baby to our cottage! They came last Saturday to stay for a month, met their new baby girl by surrogate birth on Friday, and came home today. While you can have complete privacy here, they have been happy for me to share their blessed news!

Please let us know if you know someone who would like to stay on this sparkling water, wants to complete a big project, is between houses or going through a separation… Someone always tends to show up That is perfect for our sacred spot. I took this photo of the moon set last night and saw the colors afterward—not knowing that Aurora Borealis was visible as far south as Maryland.

Q: How many nearby accommodations give you both moonrises and sunrises over a huge wide-open Bay—as well as moonsets and sunsets over an intimate up-close part of that Bay—with just nature sounds to accompany these soulful delights?

A: Only those that have a southern exposure, a body of water that hugs the property in a curve or a point of land, no streetlights, no major roads nearby, and a completely safe place to wander out onto the lawn or pier—or lounge on your balcony— at all hours of the day or night, even in the wee hours of the morning. Chesapeake Paradise has them all!

This is a lovely moonset over Broadwater Creek from our Cottage yard (even more spectacular from next door Chesapeake Paradise House.)

Seriously, if you want to see this for yourself, you have to come check it out. There are even some stars thrown in for good measure! ✨

Our guests just checked out of the sunrise suite pictured above…. This was their second time back in two weeks! First in our lovely Flat and Solarium, and then in the sunrise suite. So I decided after getting home late from Maine and Massachusetts to sleep on the screened porch. So lovely with the stars and cricket songs and quiet lapping of the water, then waking to a soft rain. Our guests love hanging out here, reading a book, playing a card game, eating together, or just rocking and looking at the view… not to mention camping out on this couch when you just want to be close to nature!
