May is Mental Health Awareness Month. This time of year, hiking in the woods can be incredibly healing; the humid air, the damp ground, walking through the fog before it retreats from the morning sun. Take some time and give back to you. We help others best when we are fully charged. For me, nothing feels better than hitting the trail!

We ❤️ the , especially in the Spring. As the trees turn green, these majestic mountains come alive. Not that you need more reasons to visit this gem, but here are our top 5 for Spring. #1 The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited National Park, but you will avoid much of the crowd in the Spring. #2 The wildflowers in the mountains put on quite a show. The azaleas, in particular, are my favorite. #3 Because of the spring rain, the waterfalls are at their peak. #4 Drive around Cades Cove or hike Abram's Falls. There is a good chance you will catch some wildlife. #5 Beat the summer heat. Enjoy the cooler mountain temperatures before the south turns hot. Chilly nights make cozying up to the campfire easy.
