The Chippewa Outpost has had a long-standing tradition of providing our veterans a great dinner after the memorial day wreath and cemetery ceremony on Memorial Day Monday. This year that tradition is going to be expanded to be a community sponsered event that is held at the newly completed Clam Lake community center.
The chicken with all the trimmings will be provided but we are asking for any locals wanting to participate to bring a side/dessert dish to pass.
We welcome any Veterans and families from the area or visiting from out of the area.
Looking forward to making a great event even better!!!

Yeah! And we've got openings!

Weather permitting, all trails will re-open to approved recreation activities in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest today, May 1, 2024. Almost all campgrounds will re-open tomorrow- on May 2, 2024. The Chippewa campground will re-open on May 20, 2024. Black Lake campground will re-open on July 1, 2024.

USDA Forest Service announces annual seasonal trail and road closures to motorized, equestrian and bicycle use in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest
now through May 1, 2024

In the interest of public safety and to ensure the integrity of trails, the USDA Forest Service has authorized an emergency closure for the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. Use by all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), utility task vehicles (UTVs), equestrian, and bicycles will be prohibited on trails and routes identified in the Forest Motor Vehicle Use Maps (MVUMs), effective immediately through May 1, 2024 per order # 09-13-24-01.

With less snow this winter and warm temperatures thawing soils, recreational trails are soft, muddy and vulnerable to substantial rutting. Trails will be closed until May 1, 2024 to protect the tread from lasting damage.

We may not have snow for snowmobiling but what we do have is...ICE. The fish are biting! 🐟
We have rentals on Upper Clam Lake, Lower Clam Lake, and Moose Lake! All with easy walk outs to the lake!

Also! Next Saturday the 13th, the Clam Lake Forest Riders Snowmobile Club will be holding a meat raffle at Ransoms from 3-5!
