Hollywood at Hardman - August 10th - 7:30pm-10:30pm

Enjoy an evening at the farm with your family with an outdoor movie night!

This is a family friendly event. Come before the show to play old fashioned yard games like croquet, corn hole and sack races. Movie will begin at dusk--bring your own blanket or chairs; there is plenty of space to spread out on the grounds. Movie admission is included with $7+tax/fees grounds fee.

Sunflowers & Selfies - August 10th & 11th - 10am-3pm

A much-awaited annual event, Sunflowers & Selfies, promises to deliver on a family-fun day of hayrides, games, photo ops, a native plant sale, and our blooming field of sunflowers. Learn about the park, from our knowledgeable guides, as you enjoy the beauty of Smithgall on a hayride or enjoy at your own pace.

Sunflowers will be for sale, as well as artisan vases, originally crafted by one of our talented volunteers. All proceeds will go toward Smithgall’s Cabin Fever campaign, launched to acquire and restore a historic log cabin on-site. Once completed, the cabin will offer educational opportunities to learn more about the area, and the park’s, rich history. This event is weather permitting. No dogs allowed on the hayride. Children 12 and under are free.

Tugalo Lake Paddle - July 24th - 9am-1pm

A 3.5 mile paddle on the secluded lake Tugaloo. Canoes and Kayaks provided. Meet at the Jane Hurt Yarn Interpretive Center. $20 per person. A 4 wheel drive vehicle is necessary to reach lake Tugaloo.

Pack it Up - July 20th - 10am-12pm

This Backpacking program aims to teach the basics of backpacking, backpacking safety, finding trails, camping sites, and the gear necessities, (and the non-necessities). Learn what’s in a standard backpacking first-aid kit, what kinds of food to bring, proper leave-no-trace, and how to make backpacking the best kind of adventure it can be!

Reservations are required.
$5 per person, plus $5 parking.

Free Tours For Military - May 27th - 10am-3pm

In honor of Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day and Patriots Day, Hardman Farm invites all Veterans, military service members and their accompanying immediate family members to enjoy a free tour of Hardman Farm on service related holidays.

Event is open throughout the day. Guided mansion tours begin on the hour starting at 10am. Last tour begins at 3pm. No pre-registration required. Simply show your veteran, active or retired military I.D. and enjoy a free tour of Hardman Farm!

A Tales of Scales Program! Georgia is home to 47 species of snakes, many of which can be found here at Smithgall Woods State Park. This program will be an educational opportunity to meet a few of our scaly friends, as well as ask any questions you have about our native snakes, why they are vital to our ecosystem, and much more.

Smithgall's Snakes Program will be from 10:00am - 11:00 am.
