LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County residents are advised that thunderstorms in the region are expected to cause Clear Lake to reach 8.0 feet Rumsey Tuesday afternoon and 9 feet Rumsey, or flood stage, by early Thursday morning.

The River Fire is now 81% contained and the larger Ranch fire which was threatening The Oaks is now 48% contained and all roads in the area are open, all evacuations are lifted, including Hwy 20 between 101 & the 5Fwy - Completely open with no restrictions.
The air quality around the lake is back to near normal with the fire now many miles east of the area.

Clearlake Today, August 4, 2018 at 2 PM looking north / north west across the lake. The smoke far in the distance is coming from the Ranch fire which is north of Clearlake.

August 1st Fire Update.
The River fire burning near Lakeport and now Kelseyville is 38% contained.
The Ranch fire burning near Upper Lake is only 15% contained.
Heavy smoke & ash are reported down wind at the lake house & visibility is so low that we can't see the mountain tops across the lake.
The lake house is closed for the remainder of this week.

Cal Fire Update 7-30-18
The fire is 33 miles driving distance from The Lake House.
The fire is burning to the East towards the city of Lakeport & Hwy 29.
Heavy smoke is visible from and above The Lake House.
We are about 50 miles east of this fire and there is 25 miles of lake between the fire and this home. There is zero chance this fire will reach us. Thankfully, water does not burn 😁
Clearlake (the lake) is open for all to enjoy.

The fire is 31.9 miles driving distance from The Lake House.
The fire is burning to the East towards Indian Valley Reservoir and the 5 Freeway.
Fire and smoke is not visible from The Lake House and
Clearlake is open for all to enjoy.
