There was a lot of this on the trip…

That sense of the “village” and everyone looking after everyone’s kids. The community that is so often lacking in our busy, modern society. The kids all quickly banded together and you could see them all gaining independence as they explored their new surroundings with growing confidence. 💙💚🩵🧡❤️

We made some big changes over the weekend. We’ve merged our two Mom and Kid Costa Rica trips into one. June 8-15, 2024. 🌴☀️🦜🐚🍍

More reminders to take care of myself first..So I can be the best for those around me. Life is relationship. 💕

“Study after study shows that healthy relationships and giving back make humans happier. Teens don’t see this generally in the media or modeled in public life. Beauty and perfection sell, not altruism and kindness. “

If we want to help anxious and depressed teens, we need to help their parents, too.

I’m not the least bit surprised at the numbers. More women, traveling solo, also means more moms traveling solo.

I think women are more comfortable with vulnerability … and if international travel and exploring a new culture is anything…. It is definitely vulnerable!

Oh what a beautiful sight! 💦 We ventured into Volcano Tenorio National Park.

DAY 2 & 3: waterfalls, hot springs, water slide and white face monkeys, toucans, hummingbirds and more… entire hot springs all to ourselves. Amazing views of Vulcan Tenorio and Miravalles. 🐒🌳☀️🌋

Kind of the perfect ending to our first full day. The thermal waters from Rincón de la vieja volcano and then a group of white face capuchin monkeys passed through overhead. 💧🐒
