PLEASE READ & CONSIDER!

Owen and I (Patrick) spent a lot of time the past couple of days with good ol' Hank Patterson (Travis Swartz). Amid all of the humor Hank reveals about fly fishing, there is something more serious going on in Hank's world right now.

Hank's client Crazy Reese, in real life has stage 4 melanoma. Reese has made a courageous fight, but the there are no further treatments, and sadly, melanoma is going to take Reese from us.

Reese is in his mid-forties. A great guy that I have been privileged to know pretty well for several years prior to his illness. None of us are prepared for these kinds of issues at such a young age.

Reese is currently in Hospice care in a specialized home that has only a couple of residents. As you can imagine, the costs for his care are significant.

If you have appreciated the work that Travis and Reese have done with Hank Patterson, would you consider a donation to help provide care for Reese as he finishes his journey with us?

March 6th is fast approaching and we’ve put together a few more reasons to make this year’s F3T event a priority! First off, we’re very excited to announce that Chris Keig of Webeye Media Group will be in attendance and will be introducing the film event! Having owned and operated the national (now international) film tour, Chris brings unique perspective on the evolution of big screen media in fly fishing and the growth of the tour itself. We’re thrilled that he’s decided to join us for the event.
The after-party has become a staple of the F3T events, and this year we’re taking it to another level. The official F3T after-party will be held at Market Garden Brewery on West 25th, and will include a Cleveland Iron Fly Event open to fly tiers of all experience levels. Iron Fly is the brainchild of Pig Farm Ink and is based on the Iron Chef concept, applied to spinning bugs. The event has spread like wildfire to cities across the country and anybody who’s been a part of one will tell you that it’s a great time for all.
