✨ Budapest: The City That Took Me by Surprise! 🇭🇺✨
Last week Nikki and I spent some time in Budapest before our final destination, Vienna. I’ll be honest—Budapest was never at the top of my must-visit list. But wow... was I missing out! This city completely blew me away. From the stunning Parliament building lit up at night to the historic thermal baths, every moment felt like discovering a hidden gem. The Danube River views, ruin bars, rich history, and incredible food made it an unforgettable experience.

Our clients Joe and Cheryl just lived out the ultimate bucket-list retirement trip experience—an overwater bungalow with a private plunge pool in Bora Bora! 🏝️✨

I don’t know what I fell in love with first, the escape from everyday life, or discovering new ways of life that only travel can reveal. What I do know is that the combination of these things have fueled my passion to help others enrich their lives with travel. My most cherished travel memories began as a child on vacation when time stood still, and all was right in my world. Whether my parents packed up the station wagon or found a way to fly to an exotic island it was my early evidence that travel was solace, and the missing piece that made me whole again.
Forty years later, with a family of my own, I still dread the last day of my trip, but I am grateful for the transformation that takes place when I return refreshed, re-connected, and ready to plan our next adventure. It is my belief that travel transforms lives, and I am fiercely committed to bringing this experience to everyone.
In spite of high school guidance counselors, parents, business coaches, spiritual advisors, and a harsh economic climate telling me that this career path would not give me a stable future or provide for my family, I have proven that passion over the desire for prosperity wins every time. After studying psychology at John Carroll University, implementing an intervention program for children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, and then staying home with my children for twelve years I found my way back to my first love, travel. I officially started my travel career in 2009 when I crossed paths by chance with the owner of a corporate travel management company. After five rewarding years of managing corporate accounts I was afforded the opportunity to be part of the award winning Canary Travel team in my hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. Under the leadership of agency owners, Karen Abbott and Angie McClure, my career has flourished.

Certifications and awards have been important in establishing myself in this industry, but they are not the key to my success. Forbes, CNN, and others have published articles listing ways to become a top producing travel advisor. There are expensive travel conferences and countless webinars offering “proven methods” to grow your business. When colleagues ask me to share how I have accomplished this I never reply with a ten step plan. There isn’t a magic formula. Walt Disney once said, "Whatever you do, do it well. Do it so well that when people see you do it, they will want to come back and see you do it again, and they will want to bring others and show them how well you do what you do.” That is exactly what I have done, and my clients will attest to that. Every single traveler has my personal cell phone number which I answer at all hours of the day and night. My clients, most of whom have become friends, appreciate my accessibility, loyalty, and commitment to them. The best marketing strategy is simply to care.
