Hard to believe where the year has gone! Already time to start thawing that thanksgiving bird. I feel very blessed to have a wonderful clientele booked to fish with this coming spring. Weekends are booked other than maybe an afternoon here or there. I do have some weekday availability which can be some of the better snagging due to the lower amount of boats on the water. With this kind of a cloud I can’t help but get fired up for next springs snagging season. Huge thanks to all who have rebooked for next year and to all coming for their first time with us. I only have 4 half day weekend openings available. 4 half day Mondays 3 half day Fridays. Weekdays are getting tight too. So please if you are thinking of booking with me don’t wait. Snagging spoonbill has been in my blood since my dad took me at the age of 8 years old. 46 years later I still love every minute chasing these awesome fish at the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. No time for rest this summer for Captain Mike and Dillon. We have been busy working hard on a big job up in Iowa. Counting the days till snagging season. I know it’s a long ways off but it will be here soon enough. A lot of days have already been filled on our schedule so if your thinking of booking next spring don’t wait to long. Many of you whom have fished with us have been in the boat with either my son Dillon during the week or on weekends it was likely my oldest son Matthew. I just want to give him a big thank you for juggling a very busy schedule to be able to get out on the lake for some snagging with our clients. Congratulations to Matthew and Skylar on their wedding this past weekend on May 4. It may have been scheduled to not coincide with the season. lol. May god bless you both with many years of happiness and many spoonbill on the deck. That Skylar can man handle them spoonies as good as anyone I know too. Love you guys. Dad/Captain Mike

I know it’s not a spoonbill but this young man, my middle son Dillon worked so hard for me on the back deck of the boat. After packing up and getting home from Lake of The Ozarks, we were finally able to take the time to get out and get after a bird for him. I’m so proud of the hard work he put in this year fishing and I can’t give him enough credit for our success this season. It thrilled me to be able to call this old double bearded Tom in to close range. He blessed us with a beautiful display that turkey hunters dream of and as usual, Dillon never misses. Thank you God for these amazing creatures you put on earth for us. Love you Dillon!!

2024 snagging season has come and gone. All I can say is wow that went fast. Had many amazing people aboard the boat and what a blessing it was to fish with you all. We boated a total of 302 keeper paddlefish with the largest being 110 #. The last day was saved for family and some buddies and we caught 5 nice ones to put in the freezer. I love some grilled blackened paddlefish. I want to say special thanks to the fine folks at Station 46 Marina & Vacation Rentals for welcoming us to their awesome establishment. For anyone wanting a vacation getaway look no further these amazing people who go out of their way to make you feel at home in their beautiful rental houses at the lake. The interaction with other guides on the lake was truly amazing, we communicated on a daily basis to keep each other on the fish to give the clients the best fishing experience possible. A lot of work goes into it but the smiles on peoples faces makes it all worth effort. Exciting things to come in 2025 and only one day after close I’m already looking forward to next season.
