Friends of Foster Kids is an outstanding nonprofit organization in Macomb County, with the sole mission of helping our community's foster children. Each year, FOFK provides a “Christmas” for these children.

This past month, the team got in the holiday spirit, fulfilling the holiday wishes of two local children in need and, once again, wrapping gifts at FOFK, then bonding with one another at Art & Jakes Sports Bar Shelby 23.

Last week, a $107k grant was awarded to Face Addiction Now by Impact 100 Macomb County. Our own Elizabeth Morris proudly serves on Impact 100 Macomb's board, while Tori Padula is also a member.

Face Addiction Now is a nonprofit guiding individuals, families and communities affected by substance use disorder by coordinating care and reducing stigma, through a variety of programs and resources, at no cost, fostering a path towards healing & recovery.

This grant will allow FAN to carry out a new project called “Supporting Children, Obstetrics, & Preventing Emergencies” (SCOPE). This project will utilize Pregnancy Peer Navigators (PPNs) to assist mothers calling our Call Center whose health—and the health of their child—is at risk.

was on hand to help honor veterans at a ceremony hosted by Phil Randazzo. Supervisor Rick Stathakis and Judge Sierawski were among the speakers.

Phil Randazzo received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars for Valor. His bravery has been documented by the Smithsonian so that future generations may appreciate him.

has been honored to support the Detroit Loyola High School football team for each of its game days the past 15 seasons.

Playoffs for Coach Sims’ Bulldogs started last week against the always tough Bathers from Mt Clemens. The Bulldogs prevailed this time.

After a call to it, the Mt. Clemens Fire Department timely arrived and, as expected, provided professional service.

A special shoutout to Dr. Rob Huth for volunteering his time on the sidelines as the Bulldogs’ team Doctor.

was honored to be among the sponsors for the City of Mount Clemens - Government state of the city address this morning that was enthusiastically delivered by Mayor Laura Kropp.

Among the many highlights was a performance by the North Broadway Church of Christ, led by Mt. Clemens Commissioner Theresa McGarity.

Many attendees were thankful that the coffee was strong, since Rob Huth spoke at the early morning gathering.

For more than 50 years, the Clinton River Watershed Council has been protecting the Clinton River, its watershed, and Lake St. Clair. As a nonprofit organization, the Council receives a significant portion of its funds through private donations.

Kirk, Huth, Lange and Badalamenti was proud to sponsor the Council this year in its annual Crafts on the Clinton event. Crafts on the Clinton is a fun-filled evening that features beer and wine tasting, live music, delicious food, and art vendors on the banks of the Clinton River.
