As a reminder, BPS students return to class tomorrow, March 21st.

Brevard County Turtle Nesting Season begins March 1st and runs through October 31st. Here are some things that remember when visiting the beach throughout Turtle Nesting Season to ensure that our nesting mothers and hatchings are protected.

1. Stay away from and avoid contact with nesting turtles, turtle nests, and hatchlings.
2. Fill in holes and knock down sand castles that may entrap hatchings and mothers on their way to the water.
3. Place all trash in the proper containers.
4. Turn off lights or use turtle-friendly lights.

In the next few days, we will be providing information on how to help protect the Nesting Turtles and their hatchlings.
