Year of the Dragon
Hello from sunny Bali to all our Liveaboard Adventures divers! I have decided to dedicate 2023 to the spectacular Komodo Islands here in Indonesia.
For those who have been before now is a perfect time to return, and if you have been putting off Komodo now is the time!
Everyone loves mantas, so you will especially love Komodo in 2023 as we had so many over our recent adventures.
I was actually questioning if the entire manta population had moved to Komodo!
Oh yes and don’t forget the dragons!
We will possibly see them on the shore of the islands and will definitely make a stop at the park for photo opportunities.
I have 5 very special Komodo itineraries planned
One includes the world-class muck diving of Bima and Sangeang from
August 21 to September 1, with opportunities for marvelous critter diving.
Another September 16-27 includes Alor, which is also known for its critters and sometimes hammerheads and thresher sharks!
We also have one stand-alone Komodo trip this season September 3-14, where we dive all of Komodo, and two very special trips to South Komodo over Christmas and New Year's from December 16-27 and December 29 to Jan 9.
It will be the perfect time of year for warm water in Horseshoe Bay
and all of Komodo South - with no other boats!
As well-traveled liveaboard divers, you are aware that Komodo is very popular and can be crowded, though as things are only slowly restarting this is your opportunity to dive Komodo with fewer boats and hopefully nothing like the crowds of 2019.
This is the best opportunity in years to experience all Komodo has to offer along with a taste of other areas as well.
Komodo & Muck
21 Aug – 1 Sept
We join the boat at Bima where we will enjoy diving with critters in the muck, then onto world-renowned Sangeang before entering the Komodo Marine Park, one of the most biodiverse protected areas in Indonesia.
Komodo
3 - 14 Sept
A quick hop to Labuan Bajo from Bali to board Dive Damai II and we are off to the famous dive sites of Komodo.
A highlight is always the chance to trek on the islands to see the the endemic Komodo Dragon, but you may see other unusual wildlife.
Komodo & Alor
16 - 27 Sept
Diving in Komodo is an amazing experience with the variety of reef creatures and pelagics. Then onto Alor and the opportunity to see some of the most elusive critters and maybe even the occasional whale!
South Komodo
16 - 27 December
Christmas in Komodo is always magical, especially with the fantastic crew of Dive Damai and a walk with Dragons.
South Komodo
29 Dec - 9 Jan
A trip in Indonesia's South Komodo truly is a liveaboard adventure and incredible way to see the New Year!
Don’t put off booking one, or even two of these exciting trips, as the time is perfect and all these trips are very easy to reach with only one short flight from beautiful Bali!
