When a critical medical emergency occurs on board a cruise ship or cargo ship while at sea, and the ship’s medical team decides that more advanced care is needed. Our Response Captain will then be dispatched and a coordinated response will be planed. Our Response Captain will respond to and await the ships arrival to Port Canaveral's anchorage area, which is just east of Cocoa Beach, FL. Once the
cruise ship meets our response vessel, a safe transfer will be done from ship to response vessel. Our response vessel will then quickly and safely transport the passenger to shore where advanced life support can be taken over by local paramedics who will then transport the patient to our local hospital. In the event that the cruise ship or cargo ship is departing Port Canaveral and a critical medical emergency occurs on board, our response vessel will already be in service and operational in the water and ready to conduct a safe transfer as soon as the ship has a safe and clear passage.
