Been amazing seeing all the great images of the giant mule deer bucks being posted lately and I will attempt later this fall to get some myself. Sometimes I just really prefer to see images of wild deer that don't have hordes of photographers capturing images of them. This may not go over well but that's my current view. Here are some totally wild mule deer buck that roam over thousands of square miles, are legally hunted, and can be quite warry. They can be a challenge just to find, let alone capture a quality image of. It may not be as a productive as to going to known locations where the photography can be relatively easy in comparison but for me it's a more rewarding but perhaps not as wise a decision. What's your take?

I don't often get in front of the camera and NO this is not one of those times. This magnificent Sumatran Orangutan was photographed in the rugged mountains of Lueser National Park on the island of Sumatra. This was definitely the most adventurous solo trip I've ever undertaken. I captured many great images of these amazing primates including one that won a major international photo contest

Seeing lots of great bear photography lately. Makes me miss photographing bears in Alaska. I lead bear photo tours for many years but haven't been able to for a while due to my business Experience Yellowstone Tours, which keep me very busy all summer. Hopefully, I'll be able to return to Alaska soon.

From a few years back for . Prowling around in a remote basin in January I spotted two real big mule deer bucks. This was the small one. Never was able to get a photo of the big one. He disappeared into a deep sagebrush draw and I never found him again 😔
