Great evening trip out on CDA! 🎣

With a number of good smallmouth and a dandy pike, as well as an awesome sunset to cap it off, it’s days like these remind us why we love what we do!

The fishing has been good lately, but with the bass and pike looking to put on the feed bags as they make their transition towards winter, and more and more salmon coming over Bonneville Dam daily, things will only get better as we press on into September and October. You wont want to miss out on the chance to experience the best that fall fishing has to offer!

Fall Salmon Season is Here! 🎣

This is the time of year when we encounter some of the largest, most aggressive, and hardest-pulling fish. If you’ve been dreaming of catching a big ol’ King salmon, now’s your chance!

Snake River: Starting September 10th (3 salmon and 2 steelhead limit)

Hanford Reach: Limited dates from October 3rd to October 15th (Land of the GIANTS)

Took a few days off to enjoy a small vacation and celebrate our 10th anniversary with my wife (and dogs).

The areas surrounding our Upper Columbia fishery are chock full of amazing opportunities to craft your own vacation that can be remembered for generations.

From exploring the North Cascades and Methow Valley, floating the methow river, Golfing Gamble Sands or Alta lake, visiting Chelan and taking kids to the water park, or watching the Omak stampede and su***de races; whatever you’re into, there’s something here that can make it not just a fishing trip, but a summer vacation full of unforgettable experiences that can only be found here!

While many other guides boast at this Brewster fishery about how fast they get their sockeye limits and then dump their clients like hot garbage. All just to hurry and get the next set on their boat, and do the same thing.

I’ve always felt that the most important thing to me and my business is the experience I provide when people book with me. I know my clients pay good money for my time and for that reason I go above and beyond when it comes to the details and effort I put into my trips.

So when we have opportunity for other amazing fish that are open close proximity, we go fish for them!

Today, much like most of our days here, we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise, early limits of sockeye, as well as multiple opportunities to tangle with and even land doubles on chinook! We fished a full day, enjoyed each other’s company, told jokes, shared stories, and my clients received an experience of a lifetime that soon won’t be forgotten!

For a longest time I never really had the confidence to give the spinner its fair shake when it comes to salmon fishing.

Mostly because I felt that without some sort of scent, the fish really had to go out of their way to bite it versus say a superbait packed with tuna.

But with the innovation of the scent bullet from it has quickly become a staple in my summer and early fall arsenal for salmon.

The simplicity to change things like blade color or scent makes it incredibly easy to fine tune what the fish want from day to day, and let’s be honest it flat out catches fish!

Try tying up a couple this year with scent bullets and see for yourself just how effective this set up is.

We’ve been having a blast chasing big smallmouth up shallow this past week, but the window for chasing these shallow fish is rapidly closing.

Even as I venture out to facilitate salmon fishing trips, the excitement continues back at Lake Coeur D’Alene.

This spring has been a blast, and we’ve been going non-stop, catching fish, and stacking on the miles.

But as we say goodbye to the spring salmon runs next week, we’re not slowing down. We will have boats chasing bass and pike on Lake Coeur D’Alene throughout year, and we’re already counting down to July 1st when we start on the upper Columbia River for some epic summer salmon action.

I’ve been crisscrossing the roads for the last week, between the Clearwater River and Lake Coeur D’Alene.

As the weeks roll on, I’ll be racking up the miles, continuing to bounce back and forth running trips in both locations. While I can’t be in two places simultaneously, I’m fortunate to have a fantastic team of guides assisting me on Lake Coeur D’Alene.
