The power of play within childhood 💫
👉🏾Research consistently highlights the immediate benefits of parents playing with their babies, such as a significant boost in cognitive development. As children grow, this early interaction continues to enhance their language and math skills. Additionally, play serves as a potent tool for promoting physical development. Your active participation in play is crucial to unlocking these immediate developmental benefits for your child.
☝🏾Playing with your baby not only aids in their physical development but also plays a pivotal role in their emotional growth. Studies have shown that increased playtime helps babies learn to manage stress, enhance their emotional intelligence, and build resilience and social skills. These crucial attributes will continue to benefit them as they progress into adulthood. The long-term benefits of play are genuinely immense, making it a worthwhile investment of time and energy.
🤎It's important to remember that there's no rigid schedule for playtime with your children. What matters most is giving them your undivided attention when playing with you. Even a short half-hour after a busy day can be enough to make a meaningful connection. And remember, weekends are an excellent opportunity to play more, as children eagerly anticipate these shared activities.

We all need a break at some point in our lives. Perhaps you need one now, but, like most of us, you convince yourself that you are absolutely too busy to take a break at the moment. Rather than recognizing and accepting the signs our minds and bodies display when we are nearing burnout, we tend to say things like, “I just need to get through this week,” and “I have no time to take a break."
Sometimes, we push through the holidays, getting through one day after another without slowing down or taking a moment to breathe. We can get so overwhelmed with decorating, buying presents, and going to all the holiday events we end up feeling more stressed and drained.
Taking a break when we are overwhelmed is necessary for maintaining our health and well-being.
Here are a few signs it may be time to take a break, to rest this holiday season.
Rest is an essential part of activity pacing, in which individuals balance periods of activity with planned periods of rest.
Too much activity can fatigue the body and mind, which can exacerbate pain symptoms and increase pain levels.
Activity pacing involves resting even when pain levels are reduced, which allows for more consistent levels of activity over time.
Benefits of Resting
-Lowering blood pressure
-Improving digestion
-Reducing stress
-Improving focus and mood
-Reducing anger and frustration
-Increasing blood flow to major muscles
-Reducing muscle tension and chronic pain
-Controlling blood sugar levels
Instead of feeling guilty for taking time to rest, reap the benefits it provides.
