Colonial Beach was once known as the playground of the Potomac.
Folks used to travel by boat from DC to enjoy our beaches, casinos, and
Over the past 131 years The town has experienced major ebbs and flow of economic decline and growth. Colonial Beach is experiencing another flow of development and growth thanks to town organizations like and small business owners and some investors who have discovered how great this place can be.
Here are some things that make us different from other beach towns.
We are friendly- why ? Its a small town made up of people with different Backgrounds,cultures and lifestyles yet we know we are all in this together and we respect our differences.
We love the Potomac and the unique ecosystem of “ brackish water “ we respect the people who make a living on these waters bringing a bounty of crabs 🦀 and oysters 🦪 for visitors and locals alike.
We have our own Radio Station WWER providing eclectic music from all genres and unique programming such as talk shows, and due to the town’s unique location you can hear tide and weather reports very often. You can stream our station live from anywhere in the United States! We have our own library and police Department as well as our very own school system.
