We got some snow in Colorado Springs. David and Laonnia booked a Garden of the Gods tour with us and I was eager to do the Old Stage Road portion of it. I love it up there when it snows.

Melissa and Mike. Melissa called the other day asking about our tours and said her husband was fond of the outdoors and not so much of the touristy stuff. She asked what tour would be best. We talked about it for a bit and she decided on the Cripple Creek/Back Country tour.

This tour doesn't book often. It's just not one of the "big" attractions in the area. But I am glad when people book it. I always love going to Cripple Creek and running Shelf Road.

We opened the top as that's the best way to view the canyon. It was cold, but we all bundled up and blasted the heat.

The clouds were some concern as it seemed complete fog before we went, but we were fortunatly under the cloud layer in the canyon.

We ended up with some beautiful scenery with the frost in the trees. We even saw some Big Horn Sheep. Right on the road.

First day above treeline on Pikes Peak in a few weeks. Stu and Rachel went with us today. We wasn't sure how far we could make it, but they decided to go anyways. We made it to mile 17 at a place called the Bottomless Pit.

We were the last up to this point.

We came back down to a place called the Devil's Playground. There is a short hike to the best views...it is short, but it is at 13k feet elevation, so it is signifcant. It's a hike folks will remember. The views from here are my favorite.

Thanks Stu and Rachel for going for it to see as much as they could see. Great views today.
