Today I was solo in Budapest. I had a very traditional Hungarian lunch of Duck breast, purple cabbage & polenta. I walked about 11,000 steps, first into the Jewish District, although many places were closed because of the National Holiday tomorrow. Then I walked along the Danube to the Parliament Building. Although I had to take so many selfies & I’m not so great at them😉, I enjoyed the solo journey and quiet meander with gorgeous weather. I ended the day at with dinner my Arizona friends, I am grateful they have arrived safely. I again had a traditional dinner of Pakrikash. It was delicious! Still sad my mom can’t make it, but happy Lisa Cooper is able to join and praying for her safe travels later in the week. 🙏🏻

While I have been to Aruba before, this was Bill’s first visit to the Island & my first time to some new areas. Our guide, Robert, was the perfect guide for us! Born on the island of Aruba, Robert took us to some familiar places to me like the Ayo Rock Formations and Natural Bridge, where you really can’t beat the landscape.

We had an amazing lunch at Rum Reef, recommended by our Royal Caribbean Royal Genie, Andres, who happens to be friends with the owners. It helps to have friend in high places, ha! They made me a special catch of the day lunch (not on the menu) that was delicious! Cool restaurant with an infinity pool right on the beach! Great spot to hang if you are cruising and have seen the sites in Aruba!

Our favorite area was where Robert grew up in Saint Nicholas. This area is very local and not touristy at all. In recent years, it has had an artist revival and has the most imaginative street art. It also has the oldest bar in Aruba! 🤪 Near the mangroves, a new over the water bungalow resort is being built. Next time I’m in Aruba, I will be sure to do a site visit and report back!

We ended our day at the Hyatt Resort beach for some sun, drinks and fun! They have a great beach, with great beach service. The adult pool and kids pool are right off the beach.

Some say Aruba is too Americanized, but I think the water and white sand beaches are some of the best in Caribbean. The rocky landscapes on other side of island are like paintings and the food isn’t bad either!

Currently at the Denver Airport about to embark on my next adventure. 3 weeks of learning and exploring! I’m headed to Budapest for a few days ahead of the ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) River Cruise Expo in Budapest, followed by a AMA Waterways cruise (organized by ASTA) and then 4 nights in Prague. It’s a great time to support the economy in Eastern Europe and there will be nearly 500 travel advisors and their guests doing just that!

Excited to learn more about river cruising so I can help serve you better!

Before I go, I’m going to catch you up on my last trip, as I never posted about all the amazing places we visited!

I will do my best to post when I can! It will be a very busy 3 weeks, but one filled with great adventure, learning with a side of fun! 🤪✈️🧳

We had the most adventurous Valentine’s Day! We started with Bumper Cars! Bill said he won! 😂 We then had an exclusive virtual reality session where we were pirates! I was just thankful I didn’t get sick! It was actually pretty fun! Next was an IFly flying simulation -incredible, even though we look like chipmunks in the photos!!🤣 For dusk, we went up in the Northstar Observation Ball, gorgeous 360 degree views! Then dinner was a culinary journey at Wonderland! The last photo is our desert. Definitely a Valentine’s Day for the books! Our Royal Genie at Royal Caribbean outdid himself!!

The French Polynesian Island of Raiatea was such a beautiful surprise! This island is at the center of the Polynesian triangle. It is surrounded by lush green mountains river water & and blue lagoon waters!

Raiatea has many Tahitian Black Pearl Farms and also Tahitian Vanilla Plantations. We visited a pearl farm, a vanilla processing center and the World UNESCO Site of Marae Taputapuātea.

Our local guide, Tara, was a gem and made the day so enjoyable! She was never without a smile! At Marae Taputapuātea, Tara also showed us how her family catches sand crabs and sand crickets and explained how they cook and eat them! And at the end of the tour, Tara fed us the most delicious fruit she has but up from her garden. I wanted to pack her in my suitcase to take her home!

Tara told us, “When I wake every day I feel blessed. Blessed to see the sand fleas, blessed to see the sun, blessed to feel the ground beneath my feet….blessed in every way.” I just loved everything about her and it made me love the island of Raiatea even more!

Tara also said this: “My grandmother says in the local beer, there’s already water!” Ha! She also told us some great stories about her grandmother!

Moorea does NOT leave you wanting more! The landscape is vibrant and tropical green! The mountains shine gloriously atop the many colors of the crystal clear blue waters. In Moorea we were lucky to snorkel with both stingray and black tip reef sharks. I had never snorkeled with sharks before so this was a treat! Our guides were very welcoming and even brought us fresh pineapple from their home garden! It was a perfect day in paradise!

Cruising the French Polynesia on Windstar Star Breeze, Day 1. I’m a few days behind because my phone wasn’t working, but bear with me! These islands are AH-mazing!! The people, the culture and the beauty of the landscape is outrageous! Im@also incredibly impressed with the ship, the food and especially, the service on the Windstar Star Breeze!

Manava Suites Resort is a perfect choice for travelers looking for comfortable accommodations, good service, beautiful views of Moorea, good food and drinks and a relaxed vibe. This resort can be used as a couple night stay on the way to another island or cruise, or there is plenty to do in Papeete alone to use it as your home base. You can also day trip to other islands. I was pleasantly surprised with Manava Suites Resort.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Bilbao!! Once a major industrial city, Bilbao, Spain has worked to become a city enticing visitors from all over the world mixing the old with the new and never forgetting to honor its industrial roots within the new modern architecture. Of course, my favorite was still old town, but the Guggenheim museum shines on the river for sure!! Loved every minute of my time here & will hopefully be back!

Beautiful Medoc Region of France with Wine Tasting at Chateau Margeaux. Beautiful scenery even though rainy. Then a lovely lunch and exploration in Bordeaux! A wonderful place to pin to come back to with more time! So charming!!

Wonderful stay in Johannesburg @ Saxon Hotel! First class service, food and accommodation! Because South Africa is still at a level 4 and there are no alcohol sales, our wine tasting became a High Tea. Was great fun & would recommend The Saxon Hotel to any clients wanting a small boutique hotel in Johannesburg with exceptional service and amenities.

As you can see, I am also still celebrating my 50th birthday with travel every month also! 🎊🎉

Special bonus to have breakfast with from ! We’ve been working together for quite a few years and hoping to partner more for future clients! It was great to finally meet in person! We are leaving Joburg to embark on our Cabela Family Foundation conservation project adventure! Couldn’t be more excited!

Traveling with my Mom has been one of the greatest joys of my life. Seeing the world and everything God has to offer us in this world has opened my eyes and my heart. My Mom never misses church (unless truly in the bush) and worshipping in foreign countries is always pure joy! My Mom just turned 83 last week & is going strong! She’s truly an inspiration and I pray I am still traveling the world as she is when I am in my 80s! Here’s some photos of our latest adventure together! Happy Mother’s Day to all of you Mom’s! May you all be inspired to travel and see the world, as my Mama inspired me!
