Thank you to all the wonderful people who came and stayed at the Blue Roost last summer. It was a great first year. Everyone was so kind and respectful of my beloved Higley camp. I hope to see my guests from last summer this summer. I’ve already had a lot of people asking about availability this year, and a few weeks booked! The week of July 4th is already booked and Labor Day weekend. Please feel free to ask about availability. Thank you!

The dock and decks have all been pressure washed and once the sun comes out they will get a fresh stain for the season. Everything is looking sharp for the season. Connor caught the first fish of the season off the end of the dock!

Multiple people have asked about 4th of July week. It will be Saturday 7/2-Saturday 7/9. I’m asking $2000.00 for the week. The rest of July is booked and part of June and August. The first two weeks of June are still open. I will be asking $1600.00 for Labor Day week. All other weeks are $1200.00. Thank you everyone

The Blue Roost 3 is a bohemian style A-framed camp on the waters edge of Higley Flow. The camp has an upstairs loft space with one queen mattress and a twin mattress. The space is perfect for a romantic privacy with a view or to send the kiddos off to their own escape. The main floor has the bathroom, kitchen, and dining area. There are two levels of deck space off the main level. One deck has a picnic table and grill for cooking and dining. The upper deck has a small fire pit and chairs for outdoor lounging. Follow the spiral staircase downstairs and you will be right on the water. There is a living room space and a bedroom with another queen bed. The living room has a couch and a futon for more guests. The best place to sit and relax is the screened in porch overlooking Greens Bay. The dock is ready if you want to bring your own boat. You can launch at Higley Flow State Park or Big Rock. There is a kayak rack. I did leave one kayak there to be used, feel free to bring your own kayaks or boards. The camp has WiFi but no cable. The downstairs TV is a smart TV, you can log into your apps or bring your own fire stick, roku, or whatever device you use for streaming. The loft television is not a smart TV so a streaming device will be needed. There is an antique radio with awesome speakers that works. You can also enjoy the CD player and games. Camp is very retro and laid back. The water is Greens Bay stays a little warmer. The waterfront at The Blue Roost is sandy and clean. The water gradually gets deeper, boats go slow in our section of the bay so it’s perfect for new or little swimmers. Don’t worry, water is deep enough at the end of the dock for jumping! Sorry, no pets allowed this year. Come and Enjoy!

Why is it called The Blue Roost 3?

In St. Lawrence county, the northern boundary of New York State, when you want to escape and go to a relaxing place in the woods or on the water, we call that camp. It’s not the cabin or the lodge, it’s camp. Camp is always a great place to make some memories. Many years ago my grandmother asked her relatives if she could take her family camping on a little piece of property on the water in Parishville, NY. She was given permission and brought her husband and children there for years, until she asked to buy it. This woodsy waterfront lot became “camp.” My grandfather built a little dwelling there with whatever materials he could come up with. The exterior of camp was covered in blue shingles, therefore the camp was lovingly named “The Blue Roost.” The area around the Blue Roost was developed and grew into a popular area for other camps and eventually year round homes. The Blue Roost was passed down to my parents who eventually tore down the original camp and built a beautiful year round home. This home is now “The Blue Roost 2.” Higley has always been the body of water that drew my attention the most. The best times of my life have been spent there. In 2018 I was blessed with the opportunity to buy my own camp on Higley. There she was, a perfect little A-frame. Since she was just for me, of course she was blue. Hence why my glorious little camp is now named, “The Blue Roost 3.”
