A lot of good news from Polebridge !

Since today we are open for summer hours 7 am - 9 pm.
Our food truck is open from 11 am .
There is live music in the restaurants near by. Looks like a lot of fun this weekend!!!

And finally Polebridge entrance to the park is officially open too !!!

We are very excited to see you all .

OPERATIONS UPDATE:

We're so excited to see you back on the mountain in just two days! A couple things to note:

- We are open Saturday, Sunday and Monday (May 27-29) this week, next weekend (June 3 & 4), and then on to 7-days a week starting June 10!
- Mountain biking will be limited to Chair 10 this weekend, but all trails in the Bad Rock Zone will be open!
- The Strider Bike Park will not be open this weekend

We snapped this summer photo along the Going To The Sun Road just as this historic Red Bus passed over Haystack Creek on the west side. Waterfalls are found throughout this world-famous scenic highway, and the best time to see them is in July and early August when the seasonal snow is still melting off the surrounding peaks. "Without the traffic, you can really focus on the mountains and wildlife. This also makes for an ideal, less worrisome descent back down the same route you climbed. But keep an eye out for wildlife and always carry bear spray. For easy access, I keep mine either in a bottle cage or handlebar bag. It’s not uncommon to encounter deer, bighorn sheep, mountain goats and, yes, black and grizzly bears. Remember to always keep your distance and never approach the wild animals."

Time to dust off those bikes if you haven't already. With the wonderful start to spring, our trails are shaping up great and we're less than two weeks away from opening for the 2023 Summer season!

Now is the best time to get your Bike Park season pass - 2022/23 winter passholders save if pass is purchased before June 30. 2023 Passholders can enjoy two free Bike Park Tickets to Schweitzer , Grand Targhee Resort , Mt Bachelor and Timberline Lodge.

The park encompasses more than 1 million acres (4,000 km2) and includes parts of two mountain ranges (sub-ranges of the Rocky Mountains), more than 130 named lakes, more than 1,000 different species of plants, and hundreds of species of animals. This vast pristine ecosystem is the centerpiece of what has been referred to as the "Crown of the Continent Ecosystem," a region of protected land encompassing 16,000 square miles (41,000 km2).

Glacier National Park opened up a portion of Going-to-the-Sun Road from the west entrance today. There is currently vehicle and recreational access up to Lake McDonald Lodge.

Some important notes:
✅ Construction will be ongoing through September to mill, reclaim, and pave the road.
✅ There will be waits of up to 30 minutes in each direction to pass through the construction zone.
✅ Nightly closures will begin June 1 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. with opportunities for visitors to pass through at midnight, 2 a.m. and 4 a.m.
✅ The east side of Going-to-the-Sun Road is currently open to vehicles approximately six miles from St. Mary to Rising Sun.
✅ The free spring hiker/biker shuttle will provide weekend service from May 13 until June 25, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. running between Apgar Visitor Center, Lake McDonald Lodge, and Avalanche Creek.

From Lake McDonald Lodge:
✅ Hikers and bikers can travel on Going-to-the-Sun Road as far as posted closures. Access beyond the closures is prohibited, and visitors who disobey the road closure signage are putting their safety, and that of rescue personnel, at risk.
✅ Current hiker/biker road crew closure and avalanche hazard closure is at The Loop (as of 5/5/23)
