🚨Microsoft Outage has affected many things including major airlines.

GLOBAL TECH OUTAGE: Major airlines, banks and business institutions are crippled from a mass IT outage today, affecting their ability to offer services.
Every single outgoing flight is affected at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City… as flights around the world are delayed or cancelled. The US state of Alaska has warned its emergency services are affected. The cause of the outage is unclear, but many of those impacted have linked it to Microsoft PC operating systems.

Let me share some professional travel agent advice should you ever decide to use a travel agent to book your accommodations(it doesn’t have to be me):

✅You will be spending your money so ASK questions.

✅Are there separate agent fees which will be assessed such as quote fees, planning fees, cancellation fees etc.?

✅Will the suppliers be paid directly using your card information or via a supplier payment link?

✅ Will a supplier confirmation be provided after initial booking and with all payments?

✅What is included in the agent’s services which will be provided such as printed travel documents regarding booking from the supplier(NOT itineraries from CRMs which is fine but get supplier documents), travel updates, advisories and notifications
as well as during travel support should any issues arise, etc.?

✅Only provide your details via a secured system or CRM.

✅Are they accountable and responsive in a timely manner?

There are so many great travel agents who provide phenomenal services.
However, as with any industry, there are unfortunately cruel, inconsiderate and diabolical people working as travel agents who do these horrible things to people without a conscience.

The role of a good travel agent is by no means a walk in the park. However, if their heart isn’t in what they do, it will reflect. Good Communication, accountability and reliability is KEY!
