Our Black History Month group trip to Senegal was a success, can’t wait to share all the content and stories from our friends in the photos. From visiting African Renaissance Monument to riding camels in the desert of Lompoul, this group was nothing but fun and laugher. We already miss them. The Mosque of Divinity was built entirely on a volunteer work. All work was done by hand, without the help of cranes or other construction equipment.

In 1973 a man by the name of Mohamed Gorgui Seyni Guèye envisaged a grand mosque on the beach. He took his dream as a prophecy and a commandment from the Lord.

Many describe it as a powerful moment when they visit the House of Slaves museum (Maison des Esclaves) on Gorée Island, located off the coast of Dakar. On the left: Door of No Return, a symbol of enslaved people being torn from their homes. On the right, you can see the Breaking the Chains of slavery statue.
