Bliss Honeymoons is in New Zealand Day 8!

Today we headed out early from Queenstown for a 4hr drive to one of the true wonders of New Zealand-Milford Sound! Although it was a long drive the scenery along the way is stunning! The driver also stops several times for restroom breaks and lots of pictures so the drive is not bad! After arriving we had a nice lunch on the boat before exploring the sound for about 2 hours. Milford Sound gets a ton of rain per year so don’t worry if it’s raining-the views get even better with even more waterfalls! After our cruise around Milford, we were able to fly back to Queenstown on Milford Sound Scenic Air which was truly a treat! The views were stunning and it only took about 40 min to get back to Queenstown! Be prepared if you book this though as only about 30-40 percent of flights make it out due to high fog and bad weather! This marks the end of our stay in New Zealand! It is truly a remarkable country and if you would like to visit, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Bliss Honeymoons is in New Zealand Day 7!

Today we arrived in the South Island in the stunning city of Queenstown! If you ever wondered if you should visit both islands on your New Zealand vacation-my answer is an absolute yes! The islands are very different and the views are absolutely majestic! It is really like adding 2 vacations in one! Today we did another cool experience where we did a jet boat through the Dart River! This was an awesome experience with some scenery you can only find in postcards! After our Dart River experience we had a site visit at the stunning Rees hotel followed by a wine paired dinner which was incredible! Some famous celebs have also stayed at this hotel and after seeing it, I can see why!!

Bliss Honeymoons is in New Zealand Day 6!

Today we left Tauranga and drove to a popular hub for exploring the Coromandel! This charming town is known as Waihi. While in Waihi, we visited the Waihi Gold Discovery Center and mine tours! This was a very neat experience learning the history of the town and how gold was mined here starting in the mid 1800’s and still continues today! Following our tour here we got to visit the stunning Owharoa Falls. It is just a short walk from the main road but the view is stunning! After our time at the Falls we travelled up the road to the Falls Retreat! This little piece of heaven is known for its outstanding hospitality and their fresh garden to table dining experience! You can even stay here to get even more of a true New Zealand experience!

After a nice pick-me-up, we traveled back to the Bay of Plenty where we visited the prestine beaches and the center piece of the area, Mount Maunganui. This spectacular mountain is a site to behold and holds power and is a very sacred spot for the local people! Although we did not get to do the hike due to weather, it was still an amazing site to behold! This concluded our stay in the North Island….stay tuned for our stops in the South Island!

Bliss Honeymoons is in New Zealand-Day 5!

Today we started our morning at the Jade factory in Rotorua. Jade is considered the most sacred stone in New Zealand. It was neat to see how they hand shape each stone and the different carvings they apply to each stone! After the Jade factory we got to check out a cool tour operator, Volcanic air! If anyone wants to see New Zealand from above, this is the way to do it! If you stay at certain hotels, they can even pick you up from there! Following our stop here, we got to go to see Secret Spot in Rotorua, which combines hot tubbing and nature-what a fun concept! Following, we stopped at Hell’s Gate-another Geothermal park in Rotorua. Here you can walk around the park where they also have a bush garden! Following your walk, you can take a mud bath and a soak in the geothermal pools! After our stop here, we got to do a truly unique New Zealand tour in Maketu, which was run by Muir Tours! Muir Tours is owned and operated by a former “All Black” rugby star. He took us to a sacred point which we were able to see panoramic 360 view of the ocean below. After this he took us into his home where he cooked us a traditional New Zealand dinner from the heat of the ground. He also does fishing and scuba tours where you catch your own dinner and you eat it at his home! Truly a cool experience! To end the day we drove to Tauranga where we ended the evening!

Bliss Honeymoons in New Zealand Day 4!

Another action packed day in Rotorua! Started the day with a visit to the new amazing spa called Wai Ariki. I have been to some amazing spas but this one is next level! After the Spa got to do a really great canopy tour which was a lot of fun! After the spa, we went to another spa (The Polynesian) which has some amazing outdoor thermal pools! For dinner it was off to the cultural show of Te Puia for an amazing buffet followed by a cultural show and then hot chocolate under the stars in a thermal field! To end the night we got to do the night walk at the Redwoods tree walk which was spectacular!

Bliss Honeymoons is in New Zealand!

Day 3: Today we started early in the morning on a fabulous boat ride to see the Māori rock carvings on Lake Taupo. After seeing the rock carvings we manage to catch a few trout in the lake! After our catch we went to the Orakei Korako thermal park. This was truly amazing seeing the water bubbling below your feet and catching the geysers coming from the ground! Following our experience at the Thermal park, we drove about 50 min to Rotorua where we visited a few hotels which I highly recommend before ending the evening at the cultural dinner experience at Te Pa Tu which was not only educational but also very fun!
